April is Alcohol Awareness Month—a reminder of the importance of education, understanding, and support around alcohol use and mental health.

At Pasadena Villa, we recognize how often alcohol use and mental health challenges intersect. Our approach focuses on treating the whole person, helping individuals gain clarity, stability, and the tools needed for lasting wellness.

Lauren Ruth Martin with Nine to Kind and Pasadena Villa Network recently hosted the “Visible Clinician” Workshop for providers across Middle Tennessee, bringing together LCSWs, LPCs, PhDs, and psychiatric nurse practitioners for a day of connection and growth.

The morning featured a panel discussion with Q&A, followed by afternoon “hot seat” coaching focused on building a stronger presence in the community. Conversations covered websites, digital and social media marketing, and how to approach outreach in a way that is both ethical and effective.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this event such a meaningful success!

April is Stress Awareness Month — a time to bring attention to how many people are navigating increased stress and emotional needs.

69% of adults said they needed more emotional support this past year than they received.

Stress can significantly impact mental health and daily functioning, making it harder to stay grounded and regulated. That’s why building practical coping strategies matters.

At Pasadena Villa, we focus on helping individuals develop skills like emotional regulation, DBT techniques, and structured routines to support lasting stability in everyday life.

There’s nothing more meaningful to us than hearing how treatment has made a real difference in someone’s life.

A recent five-star testimonial from The Grove reminds us why this work matters so deeply — and why compassion, connection, and individualized care are at the heart of everything we do at Pasadena Villa.

Healing isn’t always easy, but having a safe, supportive place to begin can change everything. We’re honored to walk alongside each person on their journey and grateful for the trust our clients and families place in us every day.

Deciding to pursue residential mental health treatment isn’t easy. For many individuals and families, it often comes after months—or even years—of trying to manage symptoms without the support they truly need.

Questions about what treatment looks like, how long it lasts, and whether it works can make the decision feel even more overwhelming.

At Pasadena Villa Smoky Mountain Lodge, we understand how difficult this step can be. That’s why we’ve created a guide to answer the most common questions—honestly and clearly—so you can move forward with confidence.

Residential treatment offers 24/7, structured support in a non-hospital setting, combining therapy, psychiatric care, and daily routines to help build lasting skills—not just stabilize a crisis.

When someone in your family is living with bipolar disorder, the impact can ripple through every part of daily life. The unpredictability of mood episodes—ranging from manic highs to depressive lows—can leave loved ones feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, and searching for ways to help.

At Pasadena Villa, we understand that support starts with knowledge. Bipolar disorder is a chronic mental health condition marked by significant shifts in mood, energy, and activity levels—far beyond typical ups and downs. These changes can deeply affect relationships, routines, and overall well-being.

On World Bipolar Day, we’re recognizing the importance of education, compassion, and support for individuals and for the families walking alongside them.
