On , we’re reminding our families that digital safety is an essential part of protecting children. At Safe Harbor, we see firsthand how the digital world can impact a child’s sense of safety—but we also know that an informed parent is a child's best defense. 🛡️

5 Ways to be a Digital Ally Today:
1️⃣ Curiosity over Criticism: Ask your kids to show you their favorite game or app. When they feel they can share the "fun" stuff, they’re more likely to share the "scary" stuff.
2️⃣ The Kitchen Table Rule: Encourage device use in common areas rather than behind closed doors.
3️⃣ Check the Privacy: Spend 5 minutes tonight reviewing privacy settings together.
4️⃣ The Charging Station: Establish a central spot (like the kitchen) where all devices go to "sleep" at night to prevent unsupervised late-night browsing.
5️⃣ Surprises vs. Secrets: Remind them that in the digital world, "surprises" are fun and temporary, but "secrets" that feel heavy should always be shared with a safe adult.
