Today, The Society proudly celebrates 73 years of empowering individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities! 🎉

As we honor this milestone, we’re taking a look back at our journey from the 1990s to the 2010s—a time of growth, innovation, and community impact. From opening our Resource Center in 1990 to being recognized by national awareness campaigns and expanding vital services, every step has been guided by our mission to put people first and foster inclusion.

Thank you to our dedicated staff, volunteers, families, and supporters who have helped shape our story. Here’s to many more years of advocacy, partnership, and making someone's best life possible! 💚

This year marks our 73rd birthday! 🎉

As we celebrate, we’re taking a look back at the milestones that shaped The Society and our community. In the 1970s and 1980s, our vision for expanding our residential services began to take root — thanks to the dedication of families, supporters, and community leaders.

One of our individuals had an amazing time cheering on the Cavs this past weekend, all thanks to the generous donations raised by the Chippewa Lake Lions Club Foundation's Polar Bear Plunge.
