This is an invitation to all ANNA members to include their special memory of an ANNA member who has passed away!

This heartfelt tradition commenced at the April 2024 National Symposium and will be upheld each year. A dedicated table in the registration area will feature the memory book and a continuous video loop showcasing the shared reminiscences. The deadline to submit for the 2026 symposium is April 3, 2026.

The 2025 ANNA Nephrology Nursing Summit will be held September 17-20, 2026 at the Scottsdale Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, AZ. The ANNA Conferences Committee invites individuals, regardless of clinical or corporate affiliation, to share their expertise by submitting a proposal for presentation at the Conference. Proposals are due by December 12, 2025.

Share your passion for kidney care through art! ANNA’s 3rd Annual Art Contest is open now through December 31, 2025. The winner will receive free registration to ANNA’s 2026 National Symposium in New Orleans, LA!

Your art must include specific kidney care related themes, and a brief caption describing the inspiration for your art, or how it is tied to kidney care. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

ANNA is proud to announce that Lou Ann Leary has been appointed Executive Director! For the past 33 years, Lou Ann has served ANNA in multiple capacities, demonstrating steadfast dedication to the association's mission.

Lou Ann says, “I am deeply committed to our nephrology nurses and the exceptional care they provide to patients every day. Working alongside the ANNA President, Board of Directors, and volunteer leaders for more than 30 years has been a true privilege. The ANNA Board of Directors spent the weekend in Kansas City, MO, attending the Nursing Organizations Alliance meeting. The Alliance brings together nursing leaders from a wide variety of specialty organizations to collaborate, share insights, and strengthen the collective voice of our profession. We are grateful for the connections, conversations, and shared commitment to advancing nursing together!

When it comes to nephrology nursing Amy says it "allows the nurse work in a variety of environments from acute to chronic, from very young to very old. We work in hospitals and in multiple areas in the outpatient space. And there is so much to learn! Even after 21 years, I still find myself learning something new daily!"

The 2026 ANNA National Symposium will be held April 25-28, at the Hilton Riverside Hotel in New Orleans, LA. The Conferences Committee invites you to share your expertise, research, or clinical findings by submitting an abstract for a 15-minute virtual presentation or a poster in-person presentation. ANNA is awarding up to $1,500 in prizes to the top rates submissions. Deadline December 2, 2025.

ANNA presidents and the Executive Director participated in the American Nurses Association (ANA) Organizational Affiliate Meeting on Thursday, November 20. The meeting convened in Kansas City, where ANA provided updates on legislative priorities, equity and engagement, APRN collaboration, nursing workforce challenges, and the ethical and legal considerations of AI in nursing. It was also a valuable opportunity to collaborate with fellow nursing affiliates as we work together to advance our profession.
