12 years! 12 years of independent and individualized Physical Therapy care and practice!
12 years of growth, knowledge gained, amazing people met!
12 years ago it was incredibly exciting to pull into the parking lot and see the "reserved" sign.
12 years ago it was risky. Maybe impossible. Perhaps pointless.... to begin a practice as "mid-aged female." What???Why??? Why leave a "perfectly good *big box* PT practice with security in paycheck.
Hmmm....to be able to do exactly this. To provide individual, one-at-a-time patient care for pelvic health, pregnancy and postpartum, ortho, spine, wellness, function and balance. To work with the ENTIRE person and help them address their "wonders, worries and wants."
To do what I really enjoy, continue to learn and to grow as a practitioner and a person.
And yes, sometimes to be a bartender at fundraisers!
So much learned. So many amazing people in my life.
What will the next years bring???
Thank you to those who have been a part of the growth! I appreciate your space in my life and look forward to more growth together!

This is worth your time to listen to and gain information about colorectal cancers.
Learn your family history, not only of cancer, but of polyps.
Discuss the history and any information gained with your physician.
Take the time to have your colonoscopy!

For those 65 and older, colorectal cancer rates have actually decreased.

Excited to share information in this (FREE) series at Sewickley Library. Join us for 1 or all!

Join us for a three-part educational series focused on women’s pelvic health—an often overlooked but essential part of overall wellness. Led by women’s health specialist, Rebecca Meehan, these sessions will explore how the pelvic floor and core support the body through different stages of life, offering practical insights, myth-busting information, and strategies you can use every day. Whether you’re planning for the future, navigating pregnancy or postpartum changes, or experiencing shifts as you mature, this series is designed to meet you where you are.
Tuesday, March 3 – Pelvic Floor & Core: The Basics
Learn how the pelvic floor, core, and spine work together to support your body in everyday life. This session will address common concerns such as incontinence, leakage, and pain—why they happen, why they’re common (but not something you simply have to accept), and where to turn for reliable answers and support. A strong foundation for understanding pelvic health at any stage.
Tuesday, April 21 – Pregnancy and Postpartum (at Any Stage or Age)
This session focuses on pelvic health during pregnancy and long after delivery—whether your postpartum journey is recent or years in the past. Topics include pelvic floor function, diastasis recti, prolapse, safe lifting and movement, activity considerations, and pain. Learn how your body changes, what’s normal, and when support can make a difference.
Tuesday, May 19 – Changes as We Mature
As we age, our pelvic floor and core continue to change. This session will explore common concerns such as leakage, prolapse, spine alignment, and bone health, along with how these systems are connected. Gain insight into what’s happening in your body and practical ways to support pelvic and core health through the years ahead.

Same book and studying, different day, different topic but one near and dear to my heart and a conversation had daily with my patients.

Yes, WHY do women remain untreated for GSM (genitourinary symptoms in menopause) and VVA (vulvovaginal atrophy)???

Among other reasons:
1. Lack of awareness among women. Improving, thankfully, but still lacking.
2. Medical providers not asking, and doing so in a manner that encourages discussion, questions, answers. Women are very sensitive about GSM and may be embarrassed to discuss changes in continence, pelvic changes, changes in intimacy and more.
3. Perhaps, lack of MD knowledge.

GSM and VVA are not one size fits all diagnoses, and not all VVA is caused by menopause (although clinically, I see that menopause may change what women have experienced previously and increase or cause a recurrenceof symptoms).

The (short) take home message? Discuss concerns with your provider. Don't accept "oh, it's menopause." Work with a PT experienced with pelvic floor, spine, and menopause. PTs are not prescribers but we are advocates and can provide info to your medical provider.

Ask what might be going on. Request solutions.

There are a lot of years ahead of you! Let's live them to the fullest!!

And no worries....the weekend schedule holds a lot of fun, not just work!
