Seasonal Allergies
Spring Pollen Season is here for North Carolina and you can see the pollen everywhere!
Pollen can trigger allergy symptoms in millions of people.
Symptoms include:
• Itching in the nose, roof of the mouth, throat, eyes
• Sneezing
• Stuffy nose (congestion)
• Runny nose (allergic rhinitis or hay fever)
• Watery eyes
• Dark circles under the eyes
The allergy season goes from February - November.
Tree pollen in the spring, grass in the summer, weeds in the fall.
Avoiding your allergy triggers is the best way
to reduce symptoms:
• Limit outdoor activities during days with high
pollen counts.
• Keep windows closed (at home or in the car) to
keep pollens out.
• Change clothes/ take a shower after coming indoors. Otherwise,
pollen in your hair may bother you all night.
Things to do:
1) If you take allergy medications for your season allergies. please start them as soon as you start having symptoms and continue throughout the allergy season that bother you.
2) If you need medication renewals or new orders. please request them now.
3) If pollen triggers your asthma be sure you are taking your allergy/asthma control medication as prescribed.
