This past Sunday, St. Agnes Our Lady of Fatima Parish hosted a Human Trafficking Awareness Event organized by the parish’s Social Justice Commission. The event centered on raising awareness, highlighting hope for survivors and those at risk, promoting prevention services, and sharing ways the community can support the collective effort to end human trafficking.

The event featured a panel of dedicated community partners, including Rebecca Prather, Clinical Director of Bellefaire’s Homeless and Missing Youth Program, who shared insights from Bellefaire’s work supporting vulnerable youth. She was joined by Tracy Springford, Human Trafficking Advocate with the Cleveland R**e Crisis Center; Joshua Porter, K9 Officer with the Middleburg Heights Police Department; and Detective Christopher Allen of the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office, each offering their unique perspective on prevention, response, and community collaboration.

Students across our community face challenges every day, and having support at the right moment can make all the difference. In 2025, over 2,900 students received guidance and care from Bellefaire’s school-based counselors, which is an increase of more than 400 youth from the year prior. Through behavioral health care, consultation, and crisis support, counselors met students where they were, helping them navigate obstacles and take meaningful steps toward growth and confidence.

Every interaction has the power to make a difference. A student learning to manage strong emotions, a young person feeling truly understood, or someone finding the encouragement to take the next step forward. These moments build coping skills, confidence, and hope that carry far beyond the school day.

Your support makes these moments possible. By giving to Bellefaire’s Annual Fund, you help students get the care and guidance they need to grow and thrive. 💜 https://www.bellefairejcb.org/Donate
