We are heartbroken this morning… 💔🙏 Lord, there are just no words….

Farmington community,

I’m writing to share some tragic and sad news. Late last night, Officer Pete Zajac took his life. Officer Zajac was a well-respected fifteen-year veteran of the Farmington Police Department, and is survived by his wife and three children. Officer Zajac spent the past two years serving as the School Resource Officer within the Farmington school district. Our entire police department family is in mourning and our hearts go out to his entire family. His presence within our department and our community as a whole will be missed. A sincere thank you to our law enforcement partners, and those in the community who have surrounded us in our time of need and those that will support us in the tough times ahead.

Sometimes, even the staff at Abijah's need to find a different form of grounding and therapy for ourselves in a BIG way.... like 2,000 pounds of Brutus big! 🐂

Almost found ourselves knee-deep in “natural consequences.” 💩😂

Today’s lesson in grounding:
Step 1: Hug Brutus.
Step 2: Breathe deeply.
Step 3: Watch where you sit.
Step 4: Be a scratching post for Brutus.
Step 5: Realize you’re standing one tiny slip away from the most literal form of bull💩 ever. 🤣
Step 6: Heal with humor.

🔥 Fire Prevention Week 🔥
As the temperatures drop and it finally feels like fall — fireplaces and firepits start calling.

This week, we pause to thank the incredible firefighters who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe, no matter the season. 🚒❤️

What an honor it was to be invited to our Nation’s Capital to discuss the mental health crisis our professional athletes are facing as well as to be a voice into how the racehorse is using more than its athletic ability at Abijah’s to save the lives of our first responders, military, and racetrack stable/backside workers.

On a personal note, it was my first time in DC. I didnt have much time but was able to take a short afternoon to walk by myself and experience the memorials of those who have gone before us. Beautiful and somber… “FREEDOM is not FREE”

And- what better way to end the trip then on a rainy night visiting the law enforcement memorial with our friends at Hometown Hero Outdoors ❤️🤍💙
