Why are women more likely to develop vein issues than men?
Between pregnancy, hormones, and daily life, vein issues are more common than most women realize. If your legs have been feeling different lately, you’re not alone and it’s worth paying attention to.
See a vein specialist to be evaluated, especially if you have a family history of varicose veins or spider veins.

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is typically treated with medications called anticoagulants, which help prevent blood clots from getting larger and reduce the risk of complications.
Doctors may also recommend compression stockings to improve circulation and help manage swelling in the legs. Early evaluation and treatment are important when it comes to protecting your vein health.

Your legs should not feel this way.
If you’re dealing with heaviness, swelling, or veins that keep getting worse, it’s worth getting checked out. So many people are surprised by how much better they can feel once they understand what’s going on.
Dr. Cahn and our team are here to help you take that first step.
Good circulation starts with simple daily habits. Staying active, avoiding long periods of immobility, and being aware of your risk factors can help lower the risk of DVT and keep your veins healthy.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! ☘
One of the most common things we hear from patients after treatment is how good it feels to have their legs back. Being able to walk, sleep comfortably, and stay active again is a pretty lucky feeling!

Many people in jobs like teaching, nursing, construction, retail, and hairstyling spend hours on their feet each day. Standing for long periods can increase pressure in the veins of the legs. Taking short movement breaks and wearing compression when recommended can help support circulation.

Your calves play an important role in circulation.
Every time you walk or flex your calf muscles, they help pump blood from your legs back to your heart. That is why doctors often call them your “second heart.”
Keeping them active with walking, stretching, or calf raises can support healthy veins.

Spider veins are small, thin blood vessels that appear close to the surface of the skin. They often look like red, blue, or purple lines that branch out in a web or tree-like pattern.
They’re most commonly found on the legs and face and are usually painless, though some people may notice mild burning, itching, or discomfort.
Spider veins form when tiny vein valves weaken and blood pools instead of flowing smoothly back to the heart. Genetics, pregnancy, prolonged standing, hormonal changes, and sun exposure can all play a role.
They’re very common and typically harmless, but many people choose to treat them for cosmetic reasons or if they cause irritation.
If you’d like to have your spider veins evaluated, we’re here to help. Schedule a vein screening and learn more about your options.

March is Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Awareness Month. DVT occurs when a blood clot forms in a deep vein, most commonly in the legs, which can partially or completely block circulation.
DVT is a serious condition because a clot can break loose and travel to the lungs, causing a life-threatening complication called a pulmonary embolism. That’s why recognizing symptoms like persistent leg swelling, pain, warmth, or redness and seeking medical evaluation is so important.
Awareness and early care can make a critical difference in protecting your vein health.
