We’re in the final stretch, and Oasis needs you now more than ever.

Our community has outgrown a space that is flooding, aging, and not handicap accessible. Every day, we work around the building’s limits — but the people who walk through our doors deserve better than “making do.”

They deserve a safe, dry, welcoming space.
They deserve doors that open to everyone.
They deserve a permanent home for recovery and connection.

The hardest part? Grants rarely cover buying or renovating a building. That means this dream depends on all of us.

Shamokin Community Gardens members and volunteers from Victory House and Oasis Community Recovery Club worked for several hours yesterday at Claude Kehler Park and the Fifth Ward Community Garden on S Franklin St, preparing the sites and garden beds for spring planting.

In total, we collected nearly 30 bags of yard debris from both locations while also raking, weeding and pruning.

A second workday is scheduled for Sunday, March 15. The team will be working at The Gateway Garden on Sunbury St, across from Dunkin', and at Volunteer Park. Last November, the group planted ten bare root trees in both locations and continues to maintain a pollinator garden at Volunteer Park.
