Edit***I didnt realize this had to be said and i apologize for it. Our food and hygiene pantries are for the participates at Oasis. While we wish we could serve everyone with these services. We must remain true to our mission.

We would like to take a moment to share a huge blessing. Recently, the Irish Valley United Methodist Church made an enormous donation to our food and hygiene pantry, long with a monetary contribution. The timing couldn’t be more perfect as we are facing so many people with food insecurity right now. Thank you to everyone at the church who was involved in this. We appreciate you!

Several people have reached out asking if we need anything in our food pantry. We’ve decided to create a list from Amazon of staples and items that are generally a good idea. Things to keep in mind when donating to other food pantries. 1. Pop top lids are user friendly for those living outside. 2.simply or one ingredient items, if a box meal requires milk, eggs, butter. A person may not have the other items needed to prepare the food. 3.Food can not be expired.

💙 National Parents as Teachers Day is coming up! 💙

At Susquehanna Valley United Way’s Family Services, we’re celebrating the incredible team members who bring our Parents as Teachers program to life — starting with Wavie O’Grady!

When asked what she wishes more people knew about the program, Wavie shared:
“I wish more people knew that the Parents as Teachers program is designed for all families. We meet parents where they are—literally and figuratively—making it easy for anyone to access support, guidance, and resources. It’s a welcoming program that focuses on helping every family help their children reach their full potential.”

Thank you, Wavie, for your dedication to helping families grow stronger together! 🌱

Stay tuned this week as we continue to spotlight the amazing people behind Parents as Teachers.
