As winter approaches, it is normal to feel the impact of decreased sunlight and colder temperatures. Like animals, we tend to want to slow down and hibernate.

Winter is a great time for rest and reflection. Too much withdrawal from daily activities, however, can cause low energy, low mood and feelings of isolation. It’s important to stay connected with others and find ways to nurture yourself to maintain physical and mental well being.

What are some ways you prioritize your wellness during the seasons change?

Ideas:
👟Join the gym or attend a movement class
📚Take a class or join a book club
👭 Spend time with family or friends
🥘 Eat healthy foods
💆Take time for self-care; maybe a massage, energy work, yoga, Craniosacral therapy, or meditation
💧Stay hydrated
😴 Rest

I'm so excited that this week's Yoganamics class aligns with the November Full Beaver Moon. Join us Wednesday night from
6 to 7 pm at The Studio at One Earth in Shapleigh as we tap into the moon's energy to cultivate inner calm and release tension.

The Beaver Moon is traditionally associated with preparation and resilience, as the beavers build thier lodges and store food for the winter. This full moon encourages us to focus on self-reflection and self-care while gathering up strength and stability for the cold days ahead.

By focusing on breath and stillness, yin yoga helps to quiet the mind. It's focus on gentler, long-held passive poses gets deep into the connective tissues, improving joint mobility, flexibility, and building a strong and resilient foundation for the body, much like theh beaver's lodge.

Come as you are. No experience necessary.
$14 for walk-ins
$60 for 5 class pass

The sacrum plays a pivotal role in overall wellness. It provides an anchor for the spine, supports the pelvis, and plays an essential role in walking, balance, and childbirth. Prolonged sitting or injury can compromise the sacrums critical role in maintaining healthy spinal alignment and preventing low back pain.

Movement like Yin Yoga and mobility exercises help cultivate flexibility, strength, and balance. Light manual practices like Craniosacral Therapy can assist with rebalancing a compromised sacrum.

Hands of Hope and Healing is now offering Craniosacral Therapy. It might be just what your sacrum needs.

Many of us have been taught to bury and hide the parts of ourselves that hurt…
the sadness, the fear, the guilt, the anger, the shame.

We push difficult memories and feelings down…
smiling, keeping busy, pretending to be okay,
but inside, our body keeps the score. It remembers.

Healing begins the moment we allow those unseen parts to step forward, to be seen, to be acknowledged.

When we stop running and start meeting ourselves and all our hurts with love, compassion, and tenderness, we can begin to let go of the negative energetic attachments we’ve been holding onto.

The moment we stop rejecting ourselves and start allowing every part of us to be seen and held, is the moment true self-healing begins.

It can be a long, painful, lonely ride, but one that leads us towards true freedom 💕

Did you know that the heart sends more messages to the brain than the brain sends to the heart?
It’s a lot more than a blood pumping machine It influences how we think, feel and make decisions.
Maybe that is why people and cultures throughout history have talked about the heart as a source of wisdom.

Exciting Announcement 🌟
I am now certified to offer Craniosacral Therapy.

What is Craniosacral Therapy you ask? Good Question. Craniosacral Therapy is a non-invasive, light touch technique that works with the body’s natural Craniosacral system- the membranes, bones, and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. It is suitable for all ages. This technique can be offered in tandem with energy work, or as a stand alone therapeutic modality.
