Sharon Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SSEPAC)

Sharon Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SSEPAC) SSEPAC provides monthly meetings, workshops, information, resources, and a supportive parent network.

SSEPAC promotes understanding, respect, acceptance and inclusion of children with medical, behavioral, and/ or special education needs and disabilities within our school system and community. A Parent Advisory Council in Special Education is authorized by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to provide advice to the district regarding its special education programs and policies.

Opportunity to attend local conference! Registration for the 8th Annual Neurodivergence Conference at the Wheeler School opens in November. This year's topic: Social & Emotional Factors that Impact Learning: Strategies to Help Students Thrive

The conference is $30 and will be a virtual event.

Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 1-2:30pm, Eastern Standard Time (EST)

Dr. Maureen Dunne is a globally renowned cognitive scientist, neurodiversity expert, and social entrepreneur who has served as a senior adviser to some of the world’s top brands, Fortune 500 companies, educational institutions, and philanthropic foundations. She approaches her work from the perspective of a trained professional who lives the experience of being neurodiverse. With the goal of helping them be more neuroinclusive, she has presented to and advised for esteemed corporations including, but not limited to Blue Cross Blue Shield, 3M, NASA, the United Nations, and Simon & Schuster.

She is the author of “The Neurodiversity Edge: The Essential Guide to Embracing Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Other Neurological Differences for Any Organization.”

A social impact entrepreneur at heart, Dr. Dunne co-founded the Autism Angels Group and the Neurodiverse Entrepreneur Program to establish critical support and opportunity pathways for neurodivergent/neurodistinct entrepreneurs. She also pioneered the Davos Neurodiversity Summit during the World Economic Forum as she saw a need for neuroinclusive leadership, educators, and business partners to come together to solve our greatest challenges.

She received the 2024 Impact Award from the Golden Apple Foundation for her impact on education and the 2025 PBS Difference Makers Award.
