Goals shape our lives — not just in the New Year, but every season. ✨

As we head into the holidays and start thinking about 2026, it’s easy to wait for the “right” time to reset, restart or get motivated. But real growth doesn’t need a countdown or a calendar flip. Momentum starts now — in small choices and tiny moments you build on day after day.

Dr. Herrick, chair of psychiatry, shares practical, research-backed strategies for setting goals that stick, even when life feels busy. Think realistic steps, visible progress, supportive accountability and using SMART goals to turn good intentions into sustainable success.

Whether you’re focusing on your well-being, career, relationships or personal routines, here’s your sign to start where you are and build forward — one step at a time.

Ready to set goals you can actually keep? Let’s do this together. 💙

Movember is a global movement dedicated to changing the face of men’s health — literally. 👨🏼‍🦰

Every November, men grow mustaches to spark conversation, raise awareness and drive action around three key areas:

✅ Prostate cancer
✅ Testicular cancer
✅ Men's mental health & su***de prevention

The idea is simple: grow a Mo, save a bro. The mustache starts the conversation. The action saves lives.

Funds raised support research, early detection programs, mental health resources and community initiatives — all designed to help men live longer, healthier, happier lives.

This year, we’re asking you to do two things: grow the mustache and take care of yourself. Grow a Mo to start the dialogue, stand up for men’s health and show support for the cause — then follow through by booking the check-up you’ve been meaning to schedule.

Participating publicly matters. Prioritizing your personal health matters just as much.

If you don’t have a primary care provider, Nuvance Health has physicians across the Hudson Valley and Western Connecticut currently accepting new patients. 👇🏼

As a society, we are definitely in a protein era right now. And in many ways, that’s a good thing. Strength training is trending, the conversation has shifted from restriction to fueling and more people want to feel strong. All great things. 💪✨

But like every wellness trend, the pendulum can swing too far...

Protein powder in coffee, cereal, cookies and chips. 2+ shakes a day becoming normal. “High-protein” being marketed as a health badge.

Here’s the thing: even the most powerful nutrient isn’t meant to stand alone. Most bodies thrive on balance — real meals, real variety, real nourishment. Protein supports strength. Balanced nutrition builds it.

You don’t have to be a “smoker” to impact your lungs. 🚭

Maybe you only have a cigarette socially. Maybe your partner or friends smoke. Maybe you're around smoke at bars, events or gatherings.

It still counts — and it still matters.

Lung cancer is the #1 cause of cancer-related deaths, and you don’t have to smoke daily (or at all) for your lungs to feel the impact.

Dr. Byron Patton reminds us that even occasional or secondhand exposure increases risk — including “social” smoking and va**ng. Secondhand smoke, stress-only smoking and “social only” va**ng all count as real exposure.

This isn’t about judgment — it’s about awareness and prevention. Your lungs support you every day. Caring for them is one of the most meaningful investments you can make. 🤍🫁

The clocks changed, but so will your body and mind. 🕰️

This week, move through your days and nights with intention:

🌞 Step outside early to remind your brains what time it is.
💧 Drink water before coffee to wake up gently.
📵 Avoid screens first thing in the morning.
🥚 Choose morning fuel that lasts instead of a quick sugar rush.
🚶‍♀️ Move in the morning.
🕯️ Use soft light in the evening to cue “wind down."
📅 Keep sleep and wake times the same.
🫖 Make your bedtime ritual feel luxurious.

It’s , a time to raise awareness for men’s health and make a commitment to paying attention to it year-round.

We’re starting with prostate cancer — because the numbers deserve our attention. About 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed in their lifetime. It’s the second most common cancer in men in the United States, and the second leading cause of cancer death in men.

Early awareness and screening matter because they give men time, options and a better chance at a long and healthy life.

Throughout Movember, Dr. Philip Gilbo will share what you need to know about prostate cancer risk, what screening looks like (and how some approaches are still debated) and when it’s time to start the conversation with your doctor.

Stay with us this month as we bring you expert guidance and resources that empower men and the people who love them to take action and protect their health. 💙

Breast Cancer Awareness Month might be ending, but your breasts don’t always get that memo. 🎀

Here’s the truth: lumps happen. Sometimes they’re scar tissue. Sometimes they’re fibrous or fluid-filled. Sometimes they’re something that needs a closer look. The point isn’t to panic — it’s to pay attention.

Dr. Gabi Barmettler breaks down what a lump can really mean, why your age doesn’t make you immune and how awareness is more than pink ribbons.

Feel familiar with your body. Ask questions. Follow up. That’s the kind of awareness that actually saves lives. 💗

If you’ve been told you have an elevated risk of breast cancer, you’re not alone — and it doesn’t mean you’ll get it.

It simply means your care team will take a closer look. That might mean starting mammograms earlier, adding MRI screenings or checking in more often.

These steps help find even the smallest changes early — when breast cancer is most treatable and outcomes are strongest. 💗

Dr. Mandy Greenberg reminds us that most breast cancers are caught early, and that’s exactly why screening matters.

If you already know you’re at higher risk, talk with your doctor about what your personalized screening plan should look like.

And if you don’t know your risk — ask.

A conversation with your doctor can help you understand your family history, genetics and the steps you can take to protect your health today and in the future. ✨

Navigating breast cancer online can feel overwhelming — and not everything you read tells the full story. 💗

🩺 Dr. Carinne Anderson reminds us that *breast cancer isn’t just one type of cancer.*

There are many subtypes, each with different treatments, timelines and outcomes — which is why comparing your journey to someone else’s can sometimes be confusing.

It’s OK to research online and learn about your condition, but also check with your care team to make sure the information you find is accurate and helpful for you. Reliable info = empowered choices.

Watch to learn how to find trusted information about breast cancer.

What does it mean to have dense breasts — and why does it matter? 💭

On a mammogram, both dense tissue and potential lumps appear white, which can make it harder to detect signs of cancer early.

Dr. Jeanne Capasse explains breast density and tissue composition. Younger women, those with lower body weight or on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may be more likely to have dense breasts.

Knowing your breast density helps your care team recommend the right screening plan — sometimes that means additional imaging like ultrasound or MRI for clearer results. 💗
