Right now, our team has the honor of caring for Volunteer Firefighter Chris Campbell, whose courage and resilience have inspired everyone who has met him during his recovery.
Chris serves our community on a volunteer basis, stepping forward to help protect lives, homes, and property from devastating wildfires. To us, he is a true hero.
As Chris continues receiving care at Newman Memorial Hospital, he is surrounded by a team that has been cheering him on every step of the way.
Chris shared,
โI am incredibly thankful for the care I have received. The nurses and staff here have treated me like family and supported me through every stage of this journey. I could not have asked for better people by my side.โ
Tom Vasko, Chief Executive Officer of Newman Memorial Hospital, reflected on the experience.
โIt was incredibly humbling to shake the hand of a true hero like Chris. Even more humbling is being part of a team whose caring hands and culture of service help support his recovery. Caring for individuals like Chris is our small way of saying thank you to those who risk their lives to protect our communities.โ
We also want to recognize and thank the firefighters who responded on February 17. When others were running from danger, you were running toward it to protect lives, homes, and our community. Your courage, sacrifice, and commitment to serving others do not go unnoticed, and we are deeply grateful for everything you do.
Chris, thank you for the courage and sacrifice you show in protecting our communities. It is our honor to stand beside you during your recovery just as you have stood for all of us.
