We made it thru Friday the 13th, but Friday the 20th, whew!
It was chilly in the house when I awoke. The thermostat said 67F, the setpoint was 72F. Furnace wouldn't come on. Called the Furnace guy, called the VA to cancel Rods dental appointment, and started hauling spaceheaters up from the basement. Colleen and I kept everyone warm until the Furnace guy came at 2pm. ... The Furnace is ok! It shut itself down as protection from the dangerously high voltage coming in on the main line! Crap! Called the power company, they got here around 6pm. Left us in the dark about 15 minutes while they check stuff out. Transformer going bad. Call in a crew. They arrived about 8:15pm. In the dark again for about 45 minutes while they installed a new transformer.
I got us to bed by candle and flashlight.
Gonna try to take it easy today. 🤞

Do you know of a great caregiver in our area who would love this view AND sourdough bread? We are hiring! Full cares plus some cooking, laundry, light housekeeping. 8 to 40 hrs/wk, $18-$20/hr. General and dementia care experience and up to date vaccinations preferred.
Disclaimer: The view is currently brown with some snow and mud, but we are hopeful it will eventually be green again.

First trip to the Green Bay VA clinic with the Lough Lorry yesterday. Roads were a bit messy, but she did fine!

2 wheelchairs, 6 passenger seats, and a driver. Room for everyone, including a few neighbors!

Introducing the Lough Lorry! Mom is no longer able to transfer to a vehicle without being physically lifted in/out and if Rod is under the weather it's a bit iffy for him too. I started searching for a wheelchair transport. Lorry was lowest miles and best cost. She's a big girl, healthy Ford 350, just needs some love.
