We are excited to welcome expert Shari Fairman from Dementia Care Solutions back for our 2nd presentation in our 3 part series.

This presentation will be focused on the Progression of Dementia. Typically, the advancement of dementia is assessed in stages, concentrating on the abilities that are lost. This approach does not equip us with tools to offer care and assistance. There is a better way!

Through Teepa Snow's GEMS State Model, participants will acquire a more profound understanding of the experiences of individuals facing brain changes, allowing them to adjust their support accordingly.

As Christmas approaches, a sense of hope and generosity pervades the atmosphere, eliciting the best in individuals and cultivating a sense of community, and this morning we were treated to a delightful surprise visit from Saint Nicolas 🎄

🌲Give Back This Holiday Season 🌲

Every year our community chooses a way to give back to the community and those in need. This year we are dedicating our "give back" to someone near and dear to our hearts.

Recently, one of our employees, her 2 children (3 and 5) and husband lost there home to a fire, and everything inside. As you could imagine the loss and devastation, in addition to being right around the holidays. We decided that we would like to help her and her family get back on there feet, by creating a Giving Tree.

Inside our community at Shawano Place Senior Living, we will have a tree designated for this family. On the tree you will find ornaments for Gift Card Ideas and below the tree you will find empty decorative boxes with a note inside of some items that her and her family are in need of, you are then able to fill the box with the items you have shopped for.

How can we participate? You stop by the community, Shawano Place Senior Living located at 1088 Engel Drive, Shawano. You let a staff member know that you would like to be brought to the Giving Tree. Once, you arrive to the Giving Tree you can pick an ornament or a box to take and shop for.

What do we do after we finish shopping? You can return the box to the community by December 22nd, 2025. Or contact the Administrator, Taylar Vetort at 920-416-2522 to arrange a pick up.

We appreciate your help and kindness to this family and there devastating loss.
