Making some progress in SolidWorks... but looking forward to using the welder :)

Box will be all aluminum, fenders are carbon fiber, made using 3d printed molds, tailgate has a carbon fiber skin with an aluminum structure under it.... I'm not much for writing these posts, I need a marketing person in my life... I just wanna build something 😩

I'm taking a creative approach by 3D printing some parts, which will allow me to repurpose the Mustang's HVAC box and retain the functionality of defrost, dash, and floor vents on this 70 year old truck!

Working on designing the front frame mods. This will bolt onto the existing 56 truck frame (shown in darker grey) using existing holes for positioning then it can be welded into place. The new frame is designed so the S550 Mustang K member and front struts can bolt into place.

Putting new steel over a rusted hole is not an acceptable fix. It will only rust out again, quickly!

I cut out the entire rusted area until I get back to clean steel and fabricate a new piece to replace the rusted metal.

This floor is actually in really good shape for a 70 year old truck.

Onto the next patch…
