Close your eyes for a second and notice your shoulders right now. Are they up by your ears? Is your upper back tight? Are you clenching without even realizing it?

“Carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders” - we say it casually. But your body doesn’t know the difference between metaphor and reality.

When you’re carrying emotional weight, your shoulders literally hold it.
When was the last time you felt truly relaxed? Shoulders-dropped-down, breathing-deeply, jaw-unclenched relaxed? If you can’t remember, you’re not alone.

“I just want to be able to run with my kids again.” 💚

That’s what a woman recently said at her first visit. Chronic back pain for 5 years and every specialist told her “you’ll have to learn to live with it.”

She was sitting on the sidelines at the playground and watching other parents chase their kids. Missing out on the life she wanted to live with her family.

💙💛 World Down Syndrome Day 💛💙

A little late for us this year because our spring break— but just as meaningful 🤍

We had such a special time celebrating this week with our sweet little peanut, and it was a beautiful reminder of how incredible this community truly is.

We are so grateful to be part of a community here in Sheboygan that shows up so well for families. The local Down syndrome chapter does an amazing job creating connection, support, and a space where families feel seen and loved.

Down syndrome is something to be celebrated — a reminder of joy, resilience, and the beauty of every unique journey.

At Grounded Roots, we are passionate about supporting these amazing kiddos as they grow and develop. Many children with Down syndrome experience increased joint mobility (hypermobility), which means their bodies rely even more on proper alignment and nervous system support.

That’s where chiropractic care can play an important role — helping support posture, movement, coordination, and overall nervous system function as they grow.

We are so honored to care for these families and walk alongside them in their health journey.

You’ve been told these are “immune system diseases” where your body attacks itself.

But did you know that your immune system is controlled by your nervous system?

Every immune response - inflammation regulation, antibody production, immune cell activation - is coordinated through nerve signals from your brain and spinal cord.
