Keeping families together. It is no secret that addiction is not only an issue for the individual using, but it also seeps into every aspect of their family. This particular family below, has literally grown before our very eyes during our 15 years in this community. God is good!! JESUS!!

In the beginning, Samaritan's Hand hosted a walk/run for 2 years, then elevated the event & created a Glow Run which that ran its course for 5 years. For ease, we eventually switched to the Virtual Fit & Frosty Run/Walk & that lasted 3 years.

Did you know that family meals play an important role in reducing the risk of kids using substances? Research compared "Teens who eat with their families 5-7 nights per week on average, against teens who eat with their families fewer than 2-3 nights per week. The research demonstrated that teens who ate fewer family meals were almost four times likelier to use to***co; more than twice as likely to use alcohol; two-and-a-half times likelier to use ma*****na; and almost four times likelier to say they expect to try drugs in the future.”

Words that warm our hearts when someone comes back. To see their faces, know they're still around & be greeted with a giant hug when we open the door.
That's the good stuff.
