2024 AUTUMN EQUINOX MESSAGE

OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH NATURE

We have an unparalleled opportunity in the midst of all the change and upheaval that all Earth’s creatures have been going through.
Have you been noticing how Nature’s creatures have been coming closer to some of us humans – some even asking for help? I previously wrote to you about the yearling bear who let me help him recover from being injured by a car on the road, so that he could eventually limp off into the woods to live his life fully. What I haven’t relayed to you is that a few months later I saw him again (I had to reprimand him telepathically for crossing the road again!!!) and he had ceased limping by this time.

This past July I began to see the birds around my house coming closer, even when they saw me, or I was on my deck. The crows always caw to me from above (I speak pretty good crow ). The bumblebees on my Jewelweed don’t mind me being around them either, and the butterflies love to zoom around my yard.

When I stop the car for the turkeys on my road to complete their crossing with their babies to the open field across from the brook side of the road, they take their time, clucking away. The same thing has been happening with deer in the same spots.

This has been a boon season for fruit flies, ants, spiders, and even mice – and even though I prefer they not live in my house – again, they seem not afraid of me, even when I cup them to bring them outside or to my shed, or take the mice to an unpopulated area to release them from my Have-a-Heart traps. By the way, the picture below was taken the morning I wrote this message. There I was, writing about being kind to all of Nature, and how we can get closer to all creatures, when the biggest spider I’ve ever seen took me up on my offer!!!



The point here is that though the change in climate conditions carries many problems and disadvantages, it is also an opportunity for us humans to consciously perform as many acts of kindness for our companions on Mother Earth as we can. We just have to have the right attitude and be willing to be open to their sentient natures. After all, our Creator made us capable of thinking of ways to get along with Nature, and to improve the partnership we can have when we don’t mess things up. We have been given free will to evolve in relationship to the natural world.

So be conscious and aware that you can be, and are, an instrument for making things better by your kindness, compassion, and decision to make our partnership with Nature thrive. If we all do our part to help the natural world, even a quorum of us can change things on this fabulous planet we call home – for us and the companions we live with.

Some possible Acts of Kindness to begin with are:

• Slow down when driving on country roads and check out the areas adjacent to the road, to make sure no animals like squirrels, ‘possums, raccoons, turkeys, deer, etc. are going to run out in front of you. I like to give a little beep with my horn to the squirrels on the road, which always makes them scurry into the brush.
• Grow native plants on your property to foster the bee, butterfly, bird and other pollinator populations. This was such a great summer for huge jewelweed plants as well as other native flowering plants that my bee populations have totally recovered from last year’s dearth.
• Use all-natural products on your land and house – no pesticides or toxic chemicals.
• Conserve water. Conserve the amount of gas you need to use for driving by bundling trips to town if you live in a rural area.
• Give your pets a job to do and you will see their intelligence blossom. Dogs especially need a job. In training them, use rewards over punishment. Never take their companionship for granted. They are so important to your quality of life.
• Finally, spend as much time in nature as you can. As you walk, bless the trees, plants, and wildlife, thanking them for all they give. A little appreciation goes a long way. Stop and really look at those asters, insects, and flowering shrubs. So amazing!

Deer Hearts,

Hummingbird totem definitely wants you to have its energy today.
I was looking out my kitchen window when I saw this tiny bird on my deck looking at itself in the glass door of my shed. I went out to make sure it was alright, and this beautiful being with an amazingly long beak and iridescent feathers let me get quite close before flying away.

2022 Autumn Equinox

September is International Peace month, and September 21st is a Celebration of Peace Day, which is occurring Wednesday, the day before the Fall Equinox. Author and spiritual coach, Robert Holden, in memorializing Queen Elizabeth, tells how her favorite prayer was from the Book of Common Prayer, beginning with this line: Go forth into the world in peace. Be of good courage.

During the Autumnal Equinox, the sun shines directly on the equator, and the northern and southern hemispheres get the same amount of rays.
Without the Sun, there is no life on Earth. With it, life is viable. So, we get to celebrate the gifts of the Sun, as well as work at restoring Peace and Balance at the same time. That means we must first create both of those in ourselves, in order to be able to bring them into the world. This will literally allow us to Recreate our world into a place where all species can live in peace with each other. It may not happen overnight, but when we choose Love each moment that we are able, the power that our choices make for change is monumental. It doesn’t take everyone to create a better outcome for our future, but each one of us is important to the process.

Let us remain focused on the Light.

RECREATING THE WORLD
One ‘R’ At a Time

to which all could Retreat
while our world Recollects
how to operate from a place of love
Returns to Remembering our Source is love
Realizes there is no sane choice
other than doing no harm … to ourselves,
to other humans, to other life forms,
and to the Earth Herself

Let’s all envision a time
when countries say no to war
Finding a way instead
to live in peace
Refusing to wage attacks against the
animals, insects, and plants
with whom we share this planet
Rejecting ever using poison for any
Reason or spraying toxins on our food

Instead, fostering an environment
that is nurturing and Restorative
to the things we want to grow
For until we are willing to become
a world that Recycles or composts everything
Re-establishes a Reciprocal Relationship
with all living things, and
Respects the intelligence
of each species

Until we learn to Revere each other
and protect the gifts we have been given
Become intimate once again
with the forces of Nature
Savoring the sights, sounds, smells,
the taste, and feel of life around us
Using our senses to appreciate
that Nature, the Great Designer
knew what She was doing
creating the perfect interdependence
of species and cycles of nature

Until we Rediscover
that the only safety we can ever have
lies in our Realization
of love – in ourselves,
each other, and all creation –
Until we Retreat to Love to turn things
around when we feel fear, anger,
or we covet what others have,
and have to be Reminded that

There is no scarcity
unless we believe there is

Until we choose Love
As our go-to
Remembering who we are
in all our possibilities,
the world will be a scary place to live
Let us choose Love,
Beginning now to create a million
visions of the world, the way

The 2022 Spring Equinox is March 20th
at 11:33 a.m. EDT

Deer Hearts,

This Spring is especially poignant with the physical, emotional and societal changes that we have all been going through for the last few years, and with world events that are breaking our hearts. Some of us may wonder if humans will ever learn that life on Earth really could be different if we would choose to be, and live, with Love as our Source, and our way of being – acting with Love toward ourselves, others, and all life on this beloved planet that gives us life, and is our home. When will we learn that fear, hatred, greed, and cruel dominance over others will never produce what we long for?

We are currently in the season of Lent which precedes Easter Sunday on April 17th. Easter is always on the first Sunday after the first full moon that follows the Spring Equinox. So, the Equinox and Easter are connected. Since Easter is only about a month away, the subject of Resurrection comes to mind. Of course, we know that Easter originated as the celebration of Jesus arising from the dead three days after his crucifixion, but the Resurrection is also significant for the renewal of life force that people, and all of nature may experience at this time of year.

There is hope. We cannot change others directly, but the more of us that choose to live by love, the more things will change. We don’t need everyone to do so to tip the scales. A quorum will do it. Even though we don’t know when a quorum will be reached, we each must do what we can in our own spheres of influence.
