Yesterday was the March for Meals fashion show benefitting Age Well, Vermont’s largest Meals on Wheels provider. Wake Robin was one of the sponsors with members of the Wake Robin Board, President & CEO, Meagan Buckley, and Director of Marketing, Kim Anderson, attending. The Meals on Wheels program serves over 318,000 meals each year to older Vermonters, and we were happy to support their efforts.

Happy Long Term Care Administrators’ Week! To become a licensed home administrator, 1,000 hours of on-the-job training and two exams are required. Gretchen Roberge, who has worked at Wake Robin since 2019, passed both exams in January and is now the Assistant Administrator of our Linden Health Center. We’re also lucky to include our CEO, Meagan Buckley, and Heather Filonow, Director of Health & Resident Services, as two more Licensed Home Administrators. The amount of work and dedication that goes into this licensing is incredible. We appreciate all that they do this week and every week at Wake Robin!

Staff members took a break from their daily duties to drop in on some visitors from Therapy Dogs of Vermont . These furry friends were invited as a part of CORE (Wake Robin’s employee wellness initiative) so that folks could relish in some canine affection while enjoying snacks made by Wake Robin’s talented pastry chef. Not a bad way to decompress on a chilly winter day!

The train has officially left the station – until next year at least. The resident-run train committee puts in a significant amount of work collecting, crafting, and testing electrical components to create the magic of the holiday train. Every year, there is something new added to the set up and it’s evolved into a tradition that’s adored amongst all generations in the Wake Robin community.

From all of us at Wake Robin, Happy New Year and best wishes for the year ahead.

This beautiful group of handmade dolls are getting ready to meet their new friends. A group of Wake Robin residents partnered with a local food shelf where 133 families signed up requesting food, clothing, and toys for the holiday season. Residents crafted these dolls – from their yarn hair to their colorful pantaloons - to gift as a part of their donation. With any luck, the recipients will adore their new buddies just as much as the residents enjoyed creating them!
