Mr. William “Billy” George Herring age 82 departed this life on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Ascension Street Vincent’s Hospital=Hospice Unit, in Jacksonville, Florida surrounded by family. He was born on March 8, 1943 in Shelby, North Carolina to the late Ben Prince Herring, Sr. and Mary Baker Herring.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Shiloh Baptist Church in Shelby.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Palmer Grove Baptist Church in Kingstown, NC. Family and friends will be received at 3:30p.m. with funeral service to follow at 4p.m. The service will be officiated by Pastor Donnie Thurman, Jr.

Burial will take place at the church cemetery.

Ms. Bettye Jean Bullard, 78 of Bessemer City, NC gained her wings and passed peacefully away on March 9, 2026 at Atrium Health-Mercy Hospital in Charlotte, NC. She was born on February 19, 1948 in Gaston County, NC to the late Floyd Wilson and the late Willie Montgomery Wilson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM at New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church , 608 Bessemer City Rd Gastonia, NC 28052. The burial will take place at Armstrong Cemetery also in Gastonia. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday and at other times at 303 S. Lafayette St. Shelby starting Tuesday March 17th through Thursday, March 19th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
