As inclement weather approaches, Shelby Manor would like to reassure our residents, families, and community that we are fully prepared for continued operations. Our team has taken the necessary precautions to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of our residents. Our management team will be on-site overnight and throughout the storm to assist as needed and ensure the safety and comfort of our residents. The care and protection of our residents continue to be our highest priority.

Today, we gathered to celebrate and honor the beautiful life of Dan “Steve” Johnson. It was a meaningful service filled with love, memories, and gratitude for the life he lived and the joy he brought to those around him.

Steve will be deeply missed and will forever hold a special place in our hearts here at Shelby Manor. His presence, stories, and spirit will never be forgotten. We are thankful to have shared so many moments with him and to have been part of his journey. 🤍

🎈🏸 Balloon Badminton Fun! 🏸🎈
Our residents had an absolute blast playing Balloon Badminton today! Armed with pool noodles and two balloons, they worked together to keep the balloons off the ground. Lots of laughs, teamwork, communication, and movement filled the room! This game turned into a fantastic workout without anyone even realizing it — fun and fitness at its best! 💪😊

We rang in the New Year with a little party and a whole lot of fun! 🥳🎊 From our exciting countdown to plenty of laughs and smiles, our residents truly enjoyed welcoming the New Year together. ⏰🎈

We shared yummy snacks and sweet treats, but the ice cream is always the FAVORITE 😄💙

Here’s to a year filled with happiness, good health, laughter, and wonderful memories! 💫

✨ Yesterday we were blessed with some truly special guests! ✨

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Step-N-Out Dance Production along with Mr. John Carter from WBTV, and what a wonderful day it was! The girls danced their little hearts out and sang Christmas songs for our residents, filling the room with joy, smiles, and holiday spirit. Our residents were completely amazed by their talent and incredible tricks! Anytime children come to visit, it brings a special kind of happiness—and this visit was no exception. ❤️🎄

Mr. John Carter’s visit was ABSOLUTELY spectacular. He is such a kind, genuine, and knowledgeable man. Our residents were completely engaged and would have happily listened to him talk for hours if lunch hadn’t been waiting! They truly, truly enjoyed every moment of his visit.

We are so incredibly grateful to Step-N-Out Dance Production and Mr. John Carter for taking the time to come out, connect with our residents, and share your talents and stories with our community. Visits like these mean more than words can express. Thank you for making our day so special—we hope to welcome you back again soon! 💕👏

🌟 VOLUNTEERS WANTED – JANUARY 🌟

January is National Staying Healthy Month and Family Fit Lifestyle Month, and we’re looking for awesome volunteers to help us kick off the new year in a fun and healthy way here at Shelby Manor! 💙

We would LOVE to welcome:
💃 Fitness or movement leaders (Zumba, chair exercises, stretching, yoga, dance, etc.)
🎤 Entertainers (musicians, singers, performers, comedians, etc.)
🧘 Wellness-focused volunteers (health education, relaxation activities, breathing exercises)
🎲 Anyone with a talent or activity that would bring smiles and joy to our residents

Whether you’re an individual, family, group, business, or organization — we would be so grateful for your time and talents! Our residents absolutely love meeting new people and trying new activities. ❤️

🎄✨ Christmas Lights Fun! ✨🎄

Tonight, we took 15 residents on a festive drive to see Christmas lights in Shelby, Forest City, Spindale, and Rutherfordton — and everyone had a wonderful time! 🚐🎅

A big thank you to Chelsey, Rick, and Kathy for helping transport our residents and making this special night possible. ❤️

So many residents signed up that we’re excited to announce another lights trip this Monday! 🎉✨

✨ A Day to Remember at Shelby Manor ✨

Today was truly PURE JOY here at Shelby Manor as we celebrated Christmas with our residents—and what a beautiful celebration it was! ❤️🎄

Our hearts are full after a day filled with laughter, fellowship, music, delicious food, and so many unforgettable smiles. This magical party was made possible by the incredible love, dedication, and generosity of so many people who came together to support our Activity Director and help create a day our residents will cherish.

A very special THANK YOU to our wonderful guests who brought the Christmas spirit to life: the NYCTREEGIRLS, Mr. Grinch, Santa Claus, Santa’s little elves, and Mr. Sisk—you brought excitement, laughter, and magic into the room! 🎅🎁

Because of the kindness of our volunteers, friends, and families, EVERY single resident received a special gift today—a true reminder that they are loved, valued, and never forgotten. 💝

This day was more than a party—it was a celebration of community, compassion, and togetherness. Shelby Manor is beyond blessed to be surrounded by such a caring and supportive village. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this day so meaningful. You made a difference, and it showed in every smile. ✨
