And guess what?! Starting December 1st, we’re kicking off our DOOR DECORATING CONTEST!!! 🎅🏻🎀
Families, this is your chance to make your loved one’s door SHINE with holiday cheer! From classic Christmas themes to creative winter wonderlands—let your imagination run WILD! ❄️🎄❤️

🎉 Important Dates:
📌 Decorating begins: December 1st
📌 Doors will be judged by our Activity Director, Chelsey, on December 10th!
📌 Winner announced: December 18th at our Christmas Party! 🎊

🏆 The BEST decorated door will receive a special surprise—so bring your festive A-game! 😉

Good Morning SM Family and Friends! ☀️🎶

We are looking to get in touch with South Mountain Bluegrass Band or a similar group. Our residents have requested live music from performers who can bring their own equipment. They love seeing all the different instruments and enjoying a variety of musical styles! 🎻🎸🥁

Alright families, it’s that time again! 🎉
Our residents have ASKED and ASKED for us to bring back one of their favorite activities… the BEAN AUCTION! 🫘✨

Here’s how it works:
Residents don’t need any money to participate — I supply them with beans (yes, we’re reusing the ones from last time! 😄). They use their beans to “bid” on different food items, and the highest bidder takes the prize home. It’s always SO much fun and brings out everyone’s competitive spirit in the best way!

To make this event possible, we’re kindly asking our wonderful families and friends of Shelby Manor to donate snack and food items for the residents to “purchase.” ❤️

Items we need:
• Chips
• Crackers
• Cookies
• Pudding cups
• Candy bars
• Cereal boxes
• 2-liter drinks
• And similar snack items!

I’ve included a picture from our last auction as a reference—our residents had an absolute blast, and they are so excited to do it again! If you’re able to help by donating any items, it would mean so much. Thank you for always supporting our residents and helping make these moments special! 🫶✨ Please turn in donations by Wednesday, December 17th! 🥰

Tonight was truly incredible. We served over 140 people tonight! Our building was FULL of residents and their loved ones, and the warmth in the room was something special. We love each and every one of our residents like our own family, but seeing them gathered together—smiling, laughing, and enjoying a meal side-by-side—was beyond wonderful. 🧡😊🍽️

Even through all the chaos, we were still able to share such a special, unforgettable time together. Nights like tonight remind us what true community looks like. 🤗✨

A huge shoutout to our amazing staff—your hard work, patience, and heart made this evening possible. 🙌💛 Thank you to every volunteer who came just to fellowship and eat but ended up rolling up their sleeves to help serve our community. 💪❤️ And a very special thank you to the church members who volunteered their time to sit with residents who didn’t have family there tonight. Your kindness and compassion meant the world. 🙏🤍

Thanksgiving is all about family, friends, and the people who make up your community. Tonight, we were reminded just how blessed we are to have such a loving, supportive, and connected family here at Shelby Manor. 🍁🏡🦃

God is so good, and our hearts are truly overflowing! 🙌✨🧡

Hey Friends & Family! 🍁🧡
We are so excited to gather together for our Thanksgiving meal tomorrow night, November 20th at 5pm!

A few of you have reached out asking if you can come share a meal with residents who may not have family attending — and after reviewing our RSVP list, it looks like we will indeed have several residents without loved ones joining them. If your heart is calling you to sit with a resident, connect, and spread a little extra love this season, please reach out to our Activity Director, Chelsey, for more information.

This time of year reminds us how important it is to come together as a community, and we are always so grateful for the kindness and support shown to our residents here at Shelby Manor. 💛

Plates are $5 (cash only).
We can’t wait to share this special evening with you! 🦃✨

📣 ATTENTION FAMILIES! IMPORTANT CHRISTMAS PARTY ANNOUNCEMENT 🎄🎅✨

Families, I will be creating a flyer to hand out during our Thanksgiving meal this Thursday, November 20th, with details about our upcoming Resident Christmas Party on December 18th.

🎁 🎁 VERY IMPORTANT: 🎁 🎁
If you have a loved one living here in our community, we kindly ask that you purchase and wrap ONE gift for them to be handed out by Santa during the party. This helps make our Santa gift-giving moment special and meaningful for each resident.

🗓 Santa Gift Drop-Off Deadline:
Friday, December 12th

Please bring gifts wrapped, tagged with the resident’s name, and give them directly to our Activities Director, Chelsey.

💡 While families are absolutely welcome to purchase additional gifts for their loved ones, we ask that the official “Santa Gift” be limited to ONE.

Each resident will also receive a separate gift, but we want to ensure that everyone has a special present from Santa himself during the celebration.

🌟 THIS IS THE WEEK!! 🌟
We are so excited to welcome our Shelby Manor family and friends to our Annual Thanksgiving Meal happening THIS THURSDAY, November 20th at 5 PM! 🧡🥧🦃

We chose to celebrate a week early because we know many families travel during the holiday, and some of our residents won’t be with us on Thanksgiving Day. Hosting it early gives us the special chance to enjoy this time all together as one big family. 🤎✨

Join us for a delicious meal, warm fellowship, and an evening filled with gratitude.
Cost: $5 per person (Cash Only)

While we kindly encourage call-ahead reservations so we can prepare plenty of food, we will also happily accept ticket purchases at the door. When you call, please give the name of the resident you will be joining and how many you are making a reservation for.

We can’t wait to celebrate this season of thankfulness with each of you on Thursday! 🍁💛

Yesterday, November 14th, we proudly celebrated National Ladies Day here at Shelby Manor. It was a day dedicated to recognizing and honoring all the incredible women who make our community so special. ✨

Women are beautiful, strong, and courageous—and our ladies here at SM embody every bit of that and more. Their stories, resilience, kindness, and wisdom fill our halls with strength and grace every single day. 🥰

To honor them, I hosted a lovely social hour filled with refreshments, laughter, and encouraging words meant to uplift and remind each woman just how valued she truly is. 💐💖

We are so grateful for the remarkable community of women at Shelby Manor. Yesterday was for YOU—and we loved celebrating every one of you!

Today was one of our residents’ favorite days… BINGO STORE DAY! 😍
Our halls were full of excitement as everyone shopped around, picking out little treasures and treats using their hard-earned bingo bucks! 💵🎉

We love being able to host this fun event every month — and with your help, we can keep the shelves stocked and the smiles coming! ❤️

If you have new or gently used items you’d like to donate, we would love to give them a second life in our Bingo Store. Every item becomes a small joy for someone here at Shelby Manor! 🥰
