Many people may not realize that March 11 is National Funeral Director and Mortician Recognition Day. While it may not be a profession many think about often, it’s one that nearly every family will rely on at some point in their lives.

As someone who comes from a family with a long line of past funeral directors and has grown up around this profession, I’ve had the privilege of seeing firsthand the compassion, dedication, and quiet strength these professionals bring to their communities. Our family business has been serving Shelby and surrounding communities for 131 years. As the sixth generation, I am proud to continue the legacy that my family has worked so hard to build and it is something that I treasure and cherish.

Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside many incredible funeral directors, crematory operators, and support staff who truly dedicate their lives to caring for others in their time of need — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The work these funeral professionals do goes far beyond services - it’s about guiding families through some of their hardest moments with the kindness, patience, and respect they deserve.

To all of the funeral professionals who serve quietly behind the scenes, and to the community that continues to trust us with their loved ones—thank you. It is truly an honor to do this work and to be part of something that means so much to so many. ❤️

The Kiwanis Club Of Shelby Ohio has teamed up with our local Wendy's to help raise funds for to continue to give back to the Shelby community!
They will be hosting an all you can eat chili dinner on February 19, 2026, from 4-7PM. Tickets are only $8 for over a $10 value. Included with your ticket is all you can eat chili, a choice of baked potato or fry, and a drink.

At the conclusion of the event we will hold a raffle for a $100 The Vault Wine Bar gift card. Tickets are limited, get yours before they are all gone!

We will only be accepting cash for tickets, and you must dine-in to take advantage of the all you can eat chili supper. (To go orders are avalible inside)
