We are so fortunate to have Cleveland County Arts Council. Their dedication to art lovers of all ages makes our community a little brighter.
Thanks to people like Kay Young (our former owner and colleague), we get to enjoy people's creativity and passion.
We're in the home stretch of October and National Arts and Humanities Month, so hear from Arts Council board member Dr. Kay Young why there's never been a better time to consider donating to our fund drive!

Why are they important?
The Arts Council was established almost 40 years ago. Their “why” is to educate, promote, support, and enrich the community. And they live up to this.
The arts are important because they impact our not just our cognitive abilities and emotional well-being, also our overall personal development. The arts foster creativity, empathy, along with problem-solving skills. I believe that by providing an outlet for expression and a means to explore diverse perspectives, the arts contribute to a more humane, connected, and resilient society.
Which takes me to wondering: how I can I make a difference?
As Dr. Jane Goodall, has famously said: “What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”
Whether I have been a participant in as artist, as a member of an affiliate organization, or as a current board member, my experience has been one of making a difference. And my sense is that the Arts Council also does this for the community.
Which is why I want to try make a difference with them. Whether it is through volunteering or by contributing to their financial well-being. I believe in their ability to making a difference in Cleveland County.
Will you make a difference by donating to the Arts Council?
