Doctors Linda and Gary Borchert

Dr. Linda Tower Borchert graduated from DePauw University School of Nursing and was employed at Major Hospital, Shelbyville, Indiana. After graduating from Indiana University School of Optometry, she and Dr. Gary moved to North Carolina to gain critical experience and training in management of ocular disease before returning to Shelbyville, her hometown. She and Dr. Gary have three grown children and she enjoys spending time with them, fitness activities, volunteering at church, and travel. Cloud State, Minnesota, Dr. Gary graduated from Indiana University School of Optometry. He completed a one year residency at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia, then moved to North Carolina to open their practice in Elizabeth City. Opportunity arose for the doctors to move back to Shelbyville in 1994 and they are happy to be back to Dr. Linda's hometown. He enjoys reading, managing computer systems at Borchert Optometry, and fitness activities. He specializes in treatment and management of ocular disease and is skilled at contact lens fitting, and surgical cases.
