The Northwestern College Symphonic Band visited our campus recently for a concert performance. Wow, was that fun for us to host! One of our clients even took a chance at conducting the band. ☺️ We are glad to have been one of their locations chosen for their spring touring program.

In preparation for Easter, we held a special worship service to remind ourselves what Holy Week is and why we celebrate it. There was music, a question and answer session and a message from Mike, our spiritual services coordinator. Thank you to all who attended! ✝️

It's World Autism Awareness Day and we're recognizing it by wearing blue and "lighting it up blue" at our Summit and Village Treasure Chest buildings overnight. 💡 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a condition many of the people we serve have. We embrace neurodiversity - the idea that people experience and interact with the world around them in many different ways. 💙

Did you know VNU serves over 150 people? Our residents and clients come to us from five different states across the U.S., including Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Utah and Alaska.

Our drawing in coffee shops class has been a popular one. What's not to like about using different writing utensils and colors to draw something fun while sipping on a tasty coffee shop drink? We're not sure! ✏️ ☕

We've been taking in some movies like "David," as well as using paper movie props to learn about making positive choices in the My Wellbeing class offered by ISU Extension and Outreach. We're so thankful for these fun opportunities offered locally. 🎥 🍿

It's 3/21 or World Down Syndrome Day and we celebrate by wearing blue, yellow and fun socks! 🧦 This date symbolizes the uniqueness of those who have 3 copies of chromosome 21, the cause of Down syndrome. We are happy to serve individuals of all kinds, including them! 👏

Another NW Iowa Playmakers Camp is in the books! We enjoyed a morning of sports and other agility activities at MOC-FV High School with many of their students. The inclusive event welcomes our group and others with expenses covered by generous sponsors. We always have so much fun at it!
