Rescue Barn is a Local New England Rescue Program whose focus is on rescue, rehabilitation, re-socialization, re-training and ultimately re-homing Purebred Mastiff Breeds (Molossers) with positive and natural methods: Bullmastiffs, Cane Corsos, Presa Canarios, English Mastiffs, and other Molossers, creating one survivor at a time....

Our Program features Mary Hannigan, Bullmastiff Owner/Breeder/Rehabilitator who has lived with, raised, trained and exhibited Bullmastiffs since 1989. We encourage breed education and re-socialization within the original home environment prior to last resort surrendering. We have an extensive adoption process that includes adoptive owner education focusing on individual breed traits and temperament ~ matching with family environment, expectations and specific molosser breed traits…

Effort is put out tirelessly for the dogs that are accepted into our program. Through positive training methods and natural redirection we focus on reintroduction of acceptable behaviors in dogs that have become “difficult” due to social inappropriateness and misdirected and unwanted behavior. We work on a lengthy re-training program for each of our Rescue Residents which includes everything from proper nutrition, exercise and play to social interaction, manners and grooming prior to offering as available for adoption. Our Rescue Residents become an enormous part of our hearts and home; They are the thought that wakes us up in the middle of the night, the tears that don’t let us fall asleep, the morning wag that puts sunshine into the cloudiest of days, the frustration behind each new grey hair, the smiles that warm our hearts, the anger that keeps us wanting to help more and the joy that is unexplainable. They become the most important project that, with progress, setbacks and positive results, brings continued amazement and utmost reward. Rescue Barn cooperates and networks with veterinary and shelter referral as last resort evaluation and rehabilitation options prior to euthanasia. We accept dogs thru Owner Surrender, Veterinary Referral, Rescue Referral, Stray, ACO & Shelter Surrender. Every dog has his own growl; it's our responsibility to translate its true meaning.

If any of my followers want to foster or adopt this sweet guy from Los Angeles... ❤️🐾
RepostBy : "Beautiful boy Gatsby still needs foster or Forever Home!

Seriously, where are the bullmastiff people?! About 4 years old, Gatsby has been in boarding practically since we rescued him and it sucks. He is super sweet with people and fine with other dogs with proper intro. Looking for a mastiff experienced home! All bills are covered if you foster! Just had blood work done at vet and all good. He has some swelling on his hocks but vet says it’s just because of pressure. It doesn’t hinder him in any way. He is active and happy and deserves a good place to lay his head.

Walter my Bullmastiff needs eye surgery possibly both. I'm broke and am trying to sell my bike to raise the money for the surgery. If you or anyone you know can help with the costs. I would be extremely happy and in your debt. Thank you. Brian and Walter

Big news! We’ve got an exciting new way for you to help East Coast Gentle Giants Rescue called . We’ve partnered with Big Barker, an American company who handcrafts amazingly supportive beds for big dogs. They’re donating a generous $63.17 for each Big Barker bed sold (and $31.63 for the smaller Barker Junior). This way you can help East Coast Gentle Giants Rescue and make sure your own dog is super-comfy too. But hurry, because ends on November 12th.

This is Pixie on her Big Barker, she’s a rescue pup found swimming in floodwaters after Hurricane Katrina. Her mom says that Pixie “cannot get enough of her Big Barker bed!”

(also, sharing & liking this post would be a HUGE help too!)

Why Big Barker Beds?
They invented the 10 year “can’t flatten, won’t flatten” warranty.
If your dog doesn’t LOVE the bed, they’ll take it back, and even pay for the return shipping.
It’s super easy to clean.

Cape Cod. Available for Adoption

HOME NEEDED - Marstons Mills, MA. "Massimo" is a purebred Cane Corso with AKC papers.

He was rescued at a train station near Boston one night Jan 2014. He had been grossly neglected and deliberately abandoned.

He is healthy, loving and needs a forever family. He is a little over 100 lbs now so would do well with older children, although he has been around a 3yr old and 5 yr old at my home. He chases wild animals in the woods, so I do not think he would do well with cats.

He is neutered, healthy, micro-chipped and up to date on shots.

Due to new health issues in the family, they can no longer manage to keep him. CONTACT: Lee-Anita O'Rourke 508-681-0801

New York, available for adoption

Bruce is a 4 year old Tibetan Mastiff/Great Pyrenees mix. he is very tall and thin. He's an athletic and very healthy dog, who has had no medical problems. Bruce is very affectionate with all people and loves to go on walks.

Like all Tibetan Mastiffs, he needs to be in a fenced area, with a tall fence since he can jump very high. He is not good with other male dogs and perhaps not with cats (not tested). He cannot be locked in a house when no one is home since he will try to break out and follow. He can be kept outside when you go away for several hours, so long as he is appropriately fenced, though he will probably bark. He had a great fear of thunderstorms, which has gotten better by using a Thundershirt and an occasional dose of va**um.

Bruce is a wonderful, loving and energetic dog, but he needs the right owner.

Anyone who has an interest should feel free to call me at 914-205-3225 or email me.
