As we prepare for 2026, the Fairfield County Medical Association is pleased to welcome two new physicians to the Board of Trustees. Their addition brings our Board composition to 3 surgical physicians and 12 medical physicians, further strengthening our leadership by balancing the perspectives that guide our work on behalf of the physician community.

We are honored to have Dr. Jill Denowitz, an Internal Medicine physician with Concierge Physicians of Westport, and Dr. Emilia Genova, a General Surgeon with Hartford HealthCare at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport CT, join the Board. Their expertise, commitment to patient care, and understanding of the evolving healthcare landscape will be invaluable as we advance FCMA’s mission in the year ahead.

FCMA is honored to congratulate Dickerman Hollister, MD, a past president of the Fairfield County Medical Association, on an extraordinary recognition.

A donor has pledged $25 million to the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Greenwich Hospital Building Fund in his honor, a powerful testament to the impact a can make through compassion, excellence, and decades of dedicated patient care.

Fairfield County Medical Association will host a 2026 Medicare Part B Update on Monday, December 15, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM EST. The Medicare Provider Outreach and Education Team from National Government Services will provide an overview of major policy and regulatory changes taking effect in 2026, including updates to the Medicare Fee Schedule, telehealth, global surgery, behavioral health, and new tools and resources for claims and appeals. The session is open to physicians and office staff who submit Medicare claims to National Government Services.

This is a valuable opportunity to ensure your practice remains informed, compliant, and help you with your Medicare participation status for 2025/2026. Fairfield County Medical Association (FCMA) President Ray Lorenzoni III, MD attended the 2025 American Medical Association (AMA) Interim Meeting in National Harbor, Maryland, where the AMA House of Delegates considered several critical issues affecting physicians and patients nationwide. Discussions focused on reforming prior authorization, addressing scope of practice concerns, advancing the appropriate use of augmented intelligence in medicine, improving access to rural health care, and strengthening substance use disorder treatment. The Fairfield County Medical Association (FCMA) was pleased to attend the New Haven County Medical Association - NHCMA annual dinner meeting where Connecticut State Senator Jeff Gordon was the guest speaker. Senator Gordon is one of only two serving in the state legislature and he shared thoughtful insights on the future of healthcare policy in and the importance of leadership in the policymaking process.

FCMA Executive Director John Brannelly attended alongside Michael Connair, MD, an orthopedic surgeon, who serves as a special advisor to the FCMA Board of Trustees. Dr. Connair emphasized the need for greater collaboration among county medical associations to strengthen physician advocacy and advance effective public policy at the state level.
