Dr. William Steelman and his wife Mallory spend their lives side by side, personally and professionally, and wouldn’t have it any other way. The pair founded Steelman Medical Group in 2024 with the aim to bring back the kind of attentive, old school bedside manner in healthcare by getting to know patients on a more personal level.

Dr. Steelman had become frustrated with conveyor belt medicine – a system where patients wait weeks for an appointment, then sit in a waiting room for an hour, all just to be double -booked for a seven – minute visit with a random doctor who barely looks at them and has one hand on the door. This is what led him to found Steelman Medical Group: to combine modern hospitality with the old-fashioned doctoring your grandparents remember.

“It is a privilege getting to hear the concerns of patients and to help them on the road to better health,” Will says. “That connection, that idea of being a neighborhood P*P for our little corner of the universe, is what we call our ‘secret sauce.’ It’s what gets us up in the morning and excited about the day.”

We would like to take today to reintroduce Lisa, our incredible nurse, who joined the SMG family at the end of June. Our SMG members are all getting to know her and the feedback is unanimous - you all love her as much as we do!!!

Lisa has been in healthcare for over 20 years. She and her husband, Jon, have two children, Ava and Wesley, and reside in The Woodlands. In her free time you will catch her doing photography, exercising, traveling, and cheering her children on in their sports. She is also an Ironman, completing the Ironman Texas in 2017! She is passionate about her faith, restoring the physician-patient relationship, and patient advocacy
