💬 “Do I need liposuction after weight loss?” It’s one of the most common questions Dr. Paul Gill hears in consults, especially from patients who’ve used GLP-1 medications like Ozempic.

Here’s the truth:
What looks like fat is often loose skin, especially after significant weight loss. In those cases, liposuction won’t help, and could actually make the area look uneven due to added fibrosis.

✅ Instead, skin excision may be the right solution.
✅ Patients should stop GLP-1s at least 2 weeks before surgery to protect anesthesia safety.
✅ It’s also important to be near your long-term goal weight before proceeding to ensure results are lasting.
