After Elimination of Food during a Flare-Up of IBD or IBS Symptomology, the Important Phase is -> Reintroducing Foods After a Flare: 3 Keys to Success
When you’ve been through a flare, your gut feels fragile (and it is), and it’s tempting to rush back to “normal" food. But stop and consider what you will begin eating. Food reintroduction is where real healing happens—if you do it with strategy.
1. Go One at a Time
Think of it as detective work. Introduce a single food, wait 3 days, and observe how your body responds. Monitor how you feel and journal what you added. This helps you know what truly supports you versus what triggers symptoms.
2. Start Simple, Then Expand
Begin with the least irritating foods (cooked veggies, lean proteins) before moving into more complex foods like raw veggies, grains, or spices. Think of this as moving through your Transition Phase—gradually reclaiming strength.
3. Track Everything
Your memory can play tricks. Write down what you eat, how you feel, energy levels, and any symptoms. This data becomes your blueprint for long-term remission and lifestyle success.
Soon you will be onto the last Phase - Remission.
