As you may be aware, we now have confirmation of COVID-19 in Sheridan County. When it comes to business, nothing is more important to me than the health of my clients. To protect myself and clients against the spread of germs, I would like to share some standard precautions for infection control taken during this time to stay healthy while I continue to serve my clients.
- Hand washing before and after client contact
- Environmental cleaning of all client areas before and after treatment, including: Providing clean linens for each client; Sanitizing massage table, stool, bolsters, and massage tools (hot stones, cups, etc.,); Sanitizing door handles inside and out; Light switches; Massage cream/oil containers; iPad and Credit Card reader; Pens and clipboards.
- Additional screening/intake questions at appointments
- And as always, if I begin feeling ill I will reschedule appointments
I would also ask that you be extra attentive to your own health when getting ready for a massage. Even from before COVID-19, massage is never recommended for someone who may be sick. One of the most helpful things about massage is how it engages your lymphatic system to mobilize toxins out of your body, but if you’re sick that same treatment can exacerbate symptoms. Given the presence of COVID-19 in our community, it is even more important to avoid close contact among persons feeling ill. IF YOU ARE FEELING SICK, please reach out so we can reschedule your appointment. There is no penalty for rescheduling!
Lastly, I will keep you updated with my practices and recommendations from Sheridan Memorial Hospital, the Wyoming Department of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the World Health Organization. If you’re looking for reliable information about COVID-19 in our community, I recommend Sheridan Memorial Hospital’s update page (https://www.sheridanhospital.org/community/coronavirus/) or the WY Dept of Health update page (https://health.wyo.gov/publichealth/infectious-disease-epidemiology-unit/disease/novel-coronavirus/).
Thank you, and stay safe out there!
