Please keep the Myers Family in your prayers:

Darlene Ann (Zellers) Myers
September 3, 1943 — October 16, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Darlene Ann (Zellers) Myers of Fishers, formerly of Sheridan, who left us on October 16, 2025, at the age of 82. Darlene was born on September 3, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Art Zellers and Mary Frances (Baird) Zellers.

Darlene was preceded in death by her loving granddaughter who she love spending time with and her grandparents, Ken and Velma Biddle, whose legacy she honored throughout her life. She is survived by her three devoted sons, Roger, Brian, and John Myers, and her five cherished grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy. She is also survived by her sister, Kay Palmer, who shared a special bond with her.

Darlene’s life was rich with purpose and dedication. She graduated from Sheridan High School before attending Butler University and Purdue University, where she was an active member of the cheer squad and played the oboe in the band. After college, Darlene briefly moved to Florida, yet her heart ultimately called her back to her roots in Sheridan, Indiana, where she raised her family and supported the family business at Biddle Precision Components for 25 years.

Darlene was deeply involved in her community, following in the footsteps of her beloved grandfather, Ken Biddle. She served on the Riverview Foundation Board and was a dedicated member of the Biddle Memorial Foundation Board from 2001 until her passing in 2025. Her commitment to service was a testament to her loving nature and her desire to give back to the community.

A woman of many interests, Darlene found joy in traveling to visit close friends and family. She was an avid golfer and loved spending time at the local senior center, playing games and cards. Darlene enjoyed gathering with friends at Eddie’s to watch Purdue and Colts games and relished the simple pleasure of dining out with her loved ones. Her home was filled with the delightful scent of her famous sugar cookies and Mexican Wedding Cakes, as she often baked for her family. Above all, Darlene treasured the moments spent with her six grandchildren, and they were the light of her life.

Darlene was known for her love for her family and friends. Her warmth and kindness touched the hearts of everyone she met. She was a faithful member of Northview Church in Carmel, where she found community and friendship.

In this time of loss, Darlene's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the thoughts and prayers that have been offered in their time of need. Darlene Ann Myers will be deeply missed, but her spirit and love will remain with us forever. The family has no services planned at this time. Please keep the Calvert Family in your prayers.

Doran Calvert, age 91, of Boone County, Indiana, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a remarkable legacy defined by enduring love, a quiet strength, and gentle kindness. Born on July 23, 1934, to Ralph Spencer Calvert and Mary Magdeline Calvert, Doran’s life was a testament to the values he held dear and the joy he brought to those around him.

Growing up as one of nine siblings, Doran learned early the importance of sharing, cooperation, and looking out for one another. The lively household fostered in him a sense of solidarity and compassion that would shape his character throughout his life.

Doran’s capacity to love was evident from the beginning, as reflected in his support and care for his family and friends. On August 28, 1953, he married his soulmate, Mary Evelyn (Johns), beginning a partnership that lasted 66 years. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, support, and devotion, rearing three children and welcoming grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren into their embrace. Doran’s love for his family was unwavering; he cherished every moment with Mary, his children, and grandchildren, demonstrating that family was the heart of his world. Renewing their wedding vows later in life was a beautiful symbol of their enduring bond.

Doran’s journey was defined by hard work and perseverance. After graduating from Sheridan High School in 1952 and attending Indiana University, he worked at the Indiana Condensed Milk Company until the plant moved to Wisconsin. He then joined his father-in-law at the family general store, Johns and Calvert, in Terhune, Indiana, where he honed his skills as a licensed plumber. In 1965, Doran and Mary purchased the store, serving their community until retiring in 1996. His tireless work ethic and commitment to helping others earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.

Music was a constant source of joy and connection for Doran. He found happiness singing in barbershop quartets, the Ellenton Jamboree Quartet, and the Ellenton United Methodist Church Choir. Doran’s rich voice and love for harmony brought people together, whether he was performing with the Barbershop Singers of America or singing hymns in church. His passion for music was not just a hobby; it was a way to share happiness, build friendships, and create lasting memories.

Doran’s quiet strength and kindness were evident in every aspect of his life. He was a gentle soul, known for his honesty, integrity, and willingness to help anyone in need. He was involved in organizations such as the Lion’s Club, Odd Fellows Lodge, Terhune United Methodist Church, and others, continually seeking ways to serve and support his community. Doran’s steadfast presence provided comfort and stability to his loved ones, and his thoughtful gestures and caring nature made him a cherished friend.

Beyond his work and music, Doran enjoyed playing cards—especially Euchre—fishing, mushroom hunting, deer hunting, and watching sports. He learned to play golf during the winters in Florida, embracing new experiences with enthusiasm. He was a country music fan and found joy in the simple pleasures of life.

Doran is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Evelyn (Johns); his father, Ralph Spencer Calvert; his mother, Mary Magdeline Calvert; his son, Gary Calvert and his siblings, Dorsey (Joan) Calvert, Ronald (Joyce) Calvert, and Cleora (Danny) Kouns. He is survived by his son, David Calvert, and his daughter, Susan (Randy) Rawlings; grandchildren Raina (Jason) Cox, Danielle Calvert, Andrew (Ashley) Calvert, Dawson Calvert, Jeffrey (Brittany) Rawlings, and Jennifer (Joe) Godar; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Doran is also survived by his siblings; Jesslyn (Sonny) Sutton, Cleta (Johnny) Stapleton, Patty (Dale) Ogle, Marilyn (Richard) Roberts, and Rita (Chuck) Barker.

Doran’s life was a beautiful example of steadfast love, hard work, musical joy, quiet strength, and gentle kindness. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.

Services will be held at Terhune United Methodist Church, located at 8392 N Washington Street, Sheridan (Terhune), Indiana, on Saturday, October 18, 2025. The visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm. The burial will follow at Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan, Indiana.
