You can’t build a secure, and honest relationship with someone who withholds responses to the smallest questions. Or someone who takes pride in not sharing how their day went- this is avoidance disguised as independence. And it’s a quiet , subtle rupture in the relationship that says “I like having power over information I share” or “I don’t want to be seen or known.” Either way, you learn you can’t have small , casual conversations and this erodes mutual trust.
