Happy New Year! 2022 is here. We are still in a pandemic. We have learned so much since 2020. What I still feel is staying CREATIVE is essential. Whatever that looks like for you. Is it making a cool cup of coffee? Painting? Dancing in the rain? Or dancing in your living room? For me, it’s all of the above. Life changes and that doesn’t mean you have to let your creativity die. Keep it thriving! Whatever that is for you at any age. Is it improv with your loved ones? Karaoke w the fam? This year, let’s keep going and keep being Oh and I got my hair done today and I love what Desiree did!

Love !! So creative!!! They have their cute decor If you don’t live in Simi, it’s worth the drive to check out this store and This is my little corner where I work daily. This is just a little shelf from Amazon that I love to switch up with the seasons. Mama has to have her little space. ♥️ And you can never have too many pumpkins! I have more of their pumpkins around my home.

Its easy to overlook the needs of the older children/teens, but the reality is they need nurturing too in an age appropriate way. As a middle school counselor, I see that my students appreciate appreciation & validation. They don’t need to hear “good job” but rather an actual acknowledgement of what you see. They know when we (adults) are not paying attention.

Hey hey wata ya day?! As a middle school counselor in quarantine, it means a lot to connect with my students. I know so many are going through a hard time. My hope is that I can connect to them even at a distance. Humor is my main way of relating to my middle school kiddos. I think they’re so funny and talented!

My big sister and I met back in 2012 at a book signing. (My sis isn’t in social media) Olivia is very kind it was a delight meeting her. My big sis wanted me to share this on her behalf. George’s music means so much to her it has taken her through some of the most difficult struggles in her life.
