We're excited to partner with Kessler-Fahrenkrug Funeral Home to host the All For Love Food and Supply Drive.

For the month of February, we're collecting new pet food and supplies for Saving Paws Animal Rescue and Unforgettable Underdogs.

We are sad to report that Bob Wittmann one of the original founders of Forrest Run passed away on January 28, 2026 after a long battle with dementia. Bob along with Jim Gavaert was a pioneer of pet death care before it became recognized, establishing Forrest Run in 1984. Pat purchased Forrest Run from Bob and his wife JoAnn in 2005.

"Bob was one of the first in the state of Wisconsin to have a pet cemetery as well as a crematory making him a true pioneer in the profession. I learned a lot from him, not the least of which was learning and being proud of a hard day's work out in nature taking care of the grounds of Forrest Run where so many beloved pets have been laid to rest. It truly is a hidden gem and one of the most peaceful and serene places in the Village of Sherwood" remarked Pat.

We are very grateful for the partnerships that we have with our veterinary clinics. And, if your veterinary clinic uses another crematory, you can still request our services. Even if and ESPECIALLY if you are at the local emergency hospital in the middle of the night. We are available by phone 24 hours a day and do not mind a phone call in the middle of the night to make the arrangements with you. We recently had a family share with us that they were told by a staff member at Blue Pearl that they had to use the emergency hospitals exclusive pet cremation service, or they had to take their pet with them. In the middle of the night. This is not the first time this has happened. Take a moment to check out the link below to see if your veterinary clinic is one of our partners. Our team would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

Also, the burial of cremains, in the Memorial Garden has been completed. The burial plot will be marked with flowers by the end of the day Monday.

NOTICE TO ALL FAMILIES WHO HAVE PETS BURIED AT FORREST RUN: Our fall cleanup will be on November 21. Please have any flowers or decorations removed by November 20th so that we can begin the holiday season decorating. Thank you so much.

Last night we were able to help support Saving Paws Animal Rescue at their Holiday Miracle Fundraiser.

Today we gathered during a peaceful moment to honor treasured companions relocated from the former Neenah Animal Shelter grounds to their perpetual resting place at Forrest Run Pet Cemetery.

To paraphrase officiant Reverend Amy Engebose, "Today we gather to ask your blessing upon this place where our pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge now find a perpetual resting place. Our sense of loss and grief is stirred up anew... May this holy place be somewhere that holds not only our grief, but also the joy that these animals brought to us. Remind us that the spirit of our beloved pets now run free in paradise with you..."

Our hearts are full with gratitude for all who worked together to make this possible! The journey to this outcome is because of all who rallied to handle an extremely rare, sensitive situation in the most respectful way possible.

Today was the final piece of something we have been honored to be a part of. It was a beautiful day for this dedication and final commendation of the beloved pets from the Neenah Animal Shelter Pet Cemetery.
