It is with a heavy heart that we share that our own Malyssa passed away last week. Malyssa was a wonderful lady who spread smiles and laughter wherever she went. Anyone who crossed paths with her in life or at Kids Abilities can attest to this. From her amazing facial expressions to her beautiful outlook in life, her absence at Kids Abilities will be felt and she will be missed.

A Celebration of Malyssa's life in an Open house type setting, will take place at the Shoreview Community Center on Sunday, April 19th from 3 to 5 in the Wedell Community room.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our adaptive basic water skills and safety classes, with the first session scheduled from February 16th to March 29th. We welcome all children and will guide them from their initial comfort and safety in water to the development of fundamental swim strokes needed for safe participation in water activities. Three outstanding therapists—Kat, Ross, and Megan—bring diverse experience and expertise, ensuring personalized support for every child on their swimming journey. Spaces for this session are filling quickly. We look forward to seeing you at the pool!

There are a few daytime spots on Friday and evening spots on Thursdays for 1:1 lessons. Contact our Hugo location on Monday morning for more information and/or to sign up!!

We invite family and friends to join us in celebrating the life of my beloved wife Corrin McCann on Friday, March 27th at 6:00 PM at the Como Park Conservatory.
She found her greatest peace and joy in her garden, surrounded by beauty, spending time with her mother and her children—moments that meant everything to her.
This gathering is a Celebration of Life, a time to honor her beautiful spirit, her laughter, her kindness, and the love she shared so generously. While we grieve her passing, we also come together to celebrate the joy she brought into our lives and the memories that will forever live in our hearts.
Please come as you are and bring your stories, your smiles, and your love as we remember a life that touched so many. We will have three rooms reserved, including the Sunken Garden.

We recognize that water activities hold significant value for many families, and this program is designed to provide all children with the skills necessary to remain safe and enjoy aquatic environments, tailored to their current abilities—an approach not always offered by traditional swim schools.
