Have you ever found yourself in the middle of a disagreement and suddenly everything goes quiet?

This is one of the most common relationship patterns I see. It happens in marriages, friendships, families, and workplaces. It does not mean your relationship is over, but rather a sign that repair skills were never taught.
The Disney movies never showed us what came after the happily ever after. And they certainly never explained the rules of fighting. Despite, what we saw in the cartoons, healthy relationships were never meant to work by avoiding conflict. They are built on the ability to repair, reconnect, and resolve when things feel activating or misaligned.
Repair takes place when understanding is restored. Resolution is where both people feel heard, honored, and grounded again. These are learnable skills. They do not rely on being the calm one, the agreeable one, or the one who lets things go.
When people learn how to navigate challenging conversations with compassion and words that resonate, trust deepens and safety returns. Resolution becomes something you move through together, because you both know the roads to get there.
