I am also certified as a Wellness Cooking Instructor and as a Thyroid Coach. As a coach I offer suggestions, tips and recommendations to help my clients feel better in their bodies. Although this journey started out with me trying to become my best and healthiest self, along the way I discovered that I am also able to inspire family, friends and clients to become their best and most healthy selves as well. My clients are mostly women going through various stages of Menopause who are discouraged by the way their bodies are responding to their diet and exercise. I also work with people who are self-proclaimed sugar addicts. I work with my clients to address their health & wellness goals and help them create realistic action steps to achieve sustainable success. Get • Listen. Believe. Bear Witness.

Tonight, Arbel Yehoud did something few could ever imagine — she spoke.

On Ulpan Shishi, she and Ariel Cunio shared the story of their captivity — from the brutality of October 7 to the fragile, painful work of trying to rebuild.

With extraordinary courage, Arbel revealed that she endured sexual abuse throughout her captivity.

She spoke carefully. Measured. As if opening only the smallest crack into something too heavy to fully unpack.

There are moments when commentary feels small.

This is one of them.

Tonight is about listening.
About believing survivors.
About carrying her words forward with dignity.

Some stories demand outrage.
This one demands responsibility.

This love — and this courage — must prevail.

A beautiful story for this Tu B’Shvat🌳

Get • Her name was Irma Lauscher.

In January 1943, she was a prisoner in Theresienstadt — a N**i concentration camp in Czechoslovakia. She was a teacher. A mother to a 5-year-old daughter. And she refused to let the children in her care forget who they were.

On the eve of Tu B’Shvat, she bribed a guard to smuggle a tiny sapling into the camp. Inside his boot. She gathered the children, and together they planted it.

They named it Etz Chaim. The Tree of Life. They wrote poetry about it. They danced around it. In a place of death, they chose life.

Of the 15,000 children imprisoned in Theresienstadt, fewer than 2000 survived. But when the camp was liberated, the tree was still standing.

Irma survived. She spent the rest of her life returning to the tree and telling its story. She was buried beside it in 1985. Today, saplings from her tree grow in Jerusalem, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Philadelphia, each one cared for by children.

One woman decided her children would still celebrate. She planted a tree in a world she didn’t know she’d survive. That is Jewish women’s strength — quiet, fierce, rooted.

Happy Tu B’Shvat 🌳

Ran Gvili is finally home.

Nira Sharabi and Raaya Rotem, residents of Kibbutz Be’eri in Southern Israel, one of the communities devastated by Hamas’ October 7, 2023 massacre, remove a poster of Ran Gvili, who was murdered and taken hostage by Hamas. Nira is the wife of Yossi Sharabi z”l (murdered in Hamas captivity and returned to Israel in October 2025), and Raaya is a survivor of Hamas captivity.

Today, January 26, 2026, Ran Gvili was returned to Israel by the IDF, and for the first time since 2014, no hostages remain in Gaza.

FORMER HOSTAGE SPEAKS THE TRUTH THE WORLD REFUSES TO HEAR

Almog Meir Jan survived 246 days of captivity in Gaza.

Starved. Bound. Psychologically tortured.

But Almog’s greatest fear was not his captors.

It was the Palestinian civilians.

“They would discover where I was, break into the house, and lynch me in the street.”

That fear haunted him every single day.

This is the part activists and journalists deliberately erase.

Not silence.
Not neutrality.
Active hatred.

People who watched.
People who knew.
People who would have joined.

Almog also revealed how food was used as torture.
His hands tied behind his back while his captors ate in front of him.
Food bought at the market.
Deliberately withheld.

This is not desperation.
This is cruelty.

In June 2024, the IDF rescued Almog during Operation Arnon.
That same day, his father died at home in Israel.
Two hours after returning, Almog was told the truth.
He buried his father the next morning.

And still, Almog chose dignity over revenge.

“My revenge is to succeed. To live. To speak. To expose.”

This is not hatred.
This is testimony.

And it shatters the myth of “innocent civilians.”

Chicago has become the largest U.S. city to unanimously codify the IHRA working definition of antisemitism into municipal law—driven not by elected officials, but by two college students. Michael Kaminsky, a DePaul University student and survivor of a 2024 campus hate-crime attack, and Jake Rymer of the University of Chicago pushed the City Council to act after witnessing a surge of antisemitism across Illinois campuses following October 7.

Get • NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch Affixes Mezuzah at Entrance to Her Office, Making Rare Public Jewish Statement at Police Headquarters

New York City’s highest-ranking police officer, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, placed a mezuzah on the doorframe of her office at NYPD headquarters — a rare, unmistakable display of Jewish identity inside one of America’s most visible law-enforcement command posts.

The mezuzah ceremony was held on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, and Tisch recited the blessing before affixing it in front of a small group of Jewish uniformed and civilian NYPD members.

In her message, Tisch called it “a small but meaningful symbol of faith and resilience,” framing it as a public reminder that Jewish life endures — proudly, and without apology.

The mezuzah itself was purchased in Israel and given to her by her mother, a detail that turns a simple ritual into something sharper: Jewish continuity, carried into the heart of public service.

The search for Ran Gvili, the last hostage, stopped several weeks ago and has not resumed since.

Ran is part of Phase One of President Trump’s peace deal and must be brought home.

If Hamas is no longer searching for him, it means one of two things: they either know exactly where he is, or they do not care to find him.

Either way, the responsibility now lies with us to echo his name and flood the networks with one demand, and with the mediators of the deal, the United States and Israel, to apply pressure and bring Rani home.

We will not let him fade away.
We will not leave him behind.

Get • As we go into the new year, our hopes remain high that 2026 will be better.

Better for Jews, for our allies, for everyone.

Unfortunately, hoping is not going to be enough. We have to put in the work, too.

Luckily, if there is anything Jews are good at, it’s rebuilding.

Get • After surviving Hamas captivity, Matan Zangauker and Ilana Gritzewsky have announced their engagement. Matan endured 738 days in captivity, while Ilana survived 55 days before her release. Afterward, she fought relentlessly alongside Matan’s mother for his freedom and for the return of all remaining hostages.
