Expanding access to Women’s Health Services

Summit Healthcare is pleased to announce a partnership with Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG), a national leader in women’s healthcare. This collaboration brings additional board-certified OBGYN physicians and certified nurse midwives to our hospital and clinics, complementing our existing team and expanding access to comprehensive women’s care, including prenatal care, deliveries, gynecologic services, and ongoing specialty care.

Access to OBGYN care is a challenge nationwide, and rural communities like ours face unique obstacles. This partnership allows us to be creative in meeting those needs, improving availability and reducing wait times for local families and patients.

While patients may see different providers throughout their care, all members of our team are highly qualified and share a common commitment to providing consistent, compassionate, and high-quality care for every patient.

We will be sharing more information soon, including introductions to our new providers and details about upcoming community events.

We were welcomed with extra holiday cheer by Mrs. Claus, aka our wonderful volunteer Sandy 🎄 Always festive and always thoughtful, she dresses up for every holiday and brings warmth wherever she goes. We’re so grateful for our volunteers. Their kindness and support extend far beyond our patients and mean so much to our staff as well.

We’re excited to share that Dr. Alan DeWitt has been recognized on MedSurg 1 as Doctor of the Year!

We’ve had the privilege of having Dr. DeWitt at Summit Healthcare for 23 years. He has served our community as a family medicine provider, chief medical officer, and now as a dedicated hospitalist caring for patients in the hospital. This recognition is truly well-deserved!

Today we’re celebrating our incredible IV Therapy team at Summit Healthcare!

Their compassion and support make every patient feel genuinely cared for. We often hear kind words about their team, both inside the hospital and throughout the community, and it is clear how much they are appreciated.

The team recently expanded their space to welcome more patients and improve access to care. During the renovation, they even hand painted a beautiful mural that adds warmth and comfort to the new space.

We are grateful for the care they provide and the heart they bring to every visit. Our patients and all of us are so fortunate to have them.
