Meet the Team: Carla
Co-Founder

Carla is a Shreveport native and a cornerstone of Elite’s founding team. Having spent most of her life connected to the healthcare field, she guides the vision, growth, and direction of Elite with a passion rooted deeply in service. Caring for the elderly holds a special place in her heart, and she often shares this reminder with caregivers: “If I had one lesson for caregivers in the trenches of caring for their loved ones, it would simply be to embrace the blessing of time.”

Carla graduated from Louisiana Tech and later earned her master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2006, completing a meaningful internship at a children’s hospital in Fort Worth.

Outside of work, Carla is an avid music lover who enjoys traveling, basketball, and relaxing on the back patio with her family. She is married and the proud mom of two beautiful daughters.💜

With more than 20 years of experience in the staffing industry, she has helped shape a business centered on helping people—whether by connecting skilled professionals with medical facilities or supporting families through in-home care.

Before launching Elite, Joanna earned her marketing degree from LSUS and went on to serve as a branch manager for a national medical staffing company, where she first met Carla. Her dedication is unmatched, and her steady leadership keeps the Elite team focused on delivering exceptional care to every client.

Now Hiring Health Information Agent: Are you comfortable with collecting, analyzing, storing and protecting patient health information? If so, then we need to talk! HIM professionals ensure the accuracy, accessibility, and security of patient data, which includes symptoms, diagnoses, and medical histories by using technology and electronic health records (EHR). It is a crucial field because it maintains data quality, assures compliance with privacy laws, and facilitates communication between healthcare providers, patients, and payers.

HIM Agents manage paper and electronic health records; they implement safeguards to protect patient information and comply with HIPAA; an agent will analyze health data to identify trends, track the impact of intervention, and improve data quality; and lastly, HIM agents work with health information technology to manage data systems, often bridging the gap between clinical and administrative functions.
