Here’s how to tell the difference (and why they overlap):
Burnout: Caused by chronic stress → emotional exhaustion, detachment, feeling unproductive.
Depression: More internal → hopelessness, low motivation, loss of pleasure even when rested.
Both: When your mind and body have been running on empty too long.
If you’re not sure which it is, start by resting without guilt and talking with a therapist. You don’t have to diagnose yourself to deserve care.
