Dear Patients:
We hope you and your family have remained safe and healthy during this time. We are happy to announce that, as recommended by the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) and Governor Charlie Baker, on June 8, 2020, Happy Teeth Dental Care re-opened our practice for “all elective, non-urgent procedures and services, including routine hygiene appointments.” Our team stands ready to assist you with any dental care you may have at this time.
Your safety is paramount at Happy Teeth Dental Care. We have always been committed to following the recommendations and guidelines made by the Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). To ensure our patients receive the best and safest care, we also follow infection control best practices as outlined by the American Dental Association (ADA) and the World Health Organization (WHO). This includes standard precautions, hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, disinfection and hospital-grade instrument sterilization. In addition, we are taking extended measures to further protect all of our patients and our team with the following additional protocols.
In compliance with public health recommendations, anyone with symptoms (cough, fever, loss of taste, shortness of breath) or who has been in direct contact with a COVID-19 positive person will not be allowed in the building and should stay home. We will be happy to reschedule your appointment for a later date.
When you arrive to your appointment, we ask that you remain in your car and simply call or text us to confirm your arrival. We will call and text you when we are ready for you to enter. This is to decrease patient-to-patient contact in the waiting room and ensure social distancing.
While waiting in your car, you may complete the online COVID-19 Questionnaire and Consent for Treatment form found on our homepage (happyteethdentalcare.com) under the "Your Visit" tab.
Patients will have a separate exit after their appointment. Our staff will help guide you through our new office flow for added safety.
Only the patient (and a guardian if that patient is a minor) is permitted into the office. If this is not possible, we ask that you remain in your car with any additional persons during the appointment and we will call you at the end of the appointment.
Wearing a mask is mandatory upon entering the office. After you enter, you will be asked to sanitize your hands. You will be given a quick questionnaire and consent form to complete (if you haven't already done so online in your car) and your temperature will be taken with a touch-less thermometer. If you have a temperature greater than 100 degrees F, we will ask that you reschedule your appointment.
Clear plastic screens (Sneeze Guards) have been installed at the front desk to minimize exposure to airborne pathogens.
We have removed any unnecessary reading materials, toys, etc. from the waiting area in our office to limit “touch” surfaces.
A pre-treatment oral swab with Hydrogen Peroxide solution will be administered to reduce viral load once you are seated in the dental chair.
Medical-Grade High Efficiency Particulate Arrestance (HEPA) air purifiers, which removes 99.9% of all particles down to 0.1microns, have been placed in each operatory and in the common areas to improve air quality for our patients and staff.
Our doctors and staff will all be wearing additional recommended Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). We may look different, but we are still the same Happy Teeth Dental Care team you trust with your oral health.
Our team has utilized the recent down time to ensure that each employee has been retrained on OSHA safety regulations and new CDC Infection Control and PPE Guidelines.
We want you to know that your safety and that of your family are of utmost importance to us and we want to reassure you we will survive these uncertain times and learn to adapt to this “new normal”. Our team is looking forward to seeing you soon at your next dental visit and hope that you will contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.
Sincerely,
Drs. Tau, Tau, and Chung and the Happy Teeth Dental Care Family
