The Wilson Health Foundation is proud to announce it has received a POWER Grant from the United Way of Shelby County POWER Group to fund the purchase of a Caring Cradle for the Family Birth Center at Wilson Health.
Purchased in January, the Caring Cradle is now available to support families experiencing the heartbreaking loss of an infant. This specialized cooling bassinet provides families with the priceless gift of time — allowing parents and loved ones the opportunity to grieve, say goodbye, and create meaningful memories in a compassionate and supportive environment. By extending the time families can remain together, the Caring Cradle promotes emotional healing and patient-centered care during one of life’s most difficult moments.
The POWER Group (Passionate Optimistic Women Encouraging Results) is a dynamic network of women dedicated to strengthening our community through collective philanthropy. By pooling their resources, members fund impactful projects addressing critical needs in health, education, and financial stability throughout Shelby County.
“This grant reflects the heart of what community partnership is all about,” said Jenny Bruns, Executive Director of the Wilson Health Foundation. “The POWER Group recognized a sensitive and important need within our Family Birth Center and stepped forward to ensure families facing unimaginable loss receive the utmost compassion, dignity, and support.”
The addition of the Caring Cradle enhances the comprehensive care already provided within Wilson Health’s Family Birth Center and reinforces the organization’s commitment to caring for patients and families at every stage of life — even in moments of profound grief.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the United Way of Shelby County POWER Group for its leadership, generosity, and dedication to making a meaningful difference in Shelby County.
