01/02/2023
The new year has begun and it's time to set and/or reconsider our 2023 New Year's resolutions.
I have had many patients over the years talk about weight loss and I myself have had yo-yo success. I know myself, and tend to do better when I have obligated myself to something; I do even better when there is financial motivation (ie I've paid to do something). This is one reason I sign up for runs and bike rides for which I then have to prepare.
There is no magic recipe for weight loss and many of us struggle with this effort. Having said that, there are medications that are very helpful and I would LOVE to discuss these options with you if you have interest. HOWEVER this is not a sales pitch... well not for medications and/or appointments.
I intend to push myself in 2023 and rather than signing up for short runs, have signed myself up for 2 half marathons: the first being the Kewash which starts downtown Washington and traverses parts of the Kewash trail; the second being the DAM to DSM which goes from the Saylorville Dam to downtown Des Moines.
Here is my sales pitch: I challenge you to find something that motivates YOU to complete and meet your 2023 resolutions, whether it's weight loss, improving fitness, quitting smoking or whatever (healthy) resolution you may choose.
If you're so inclined, please consider joining me on the Kewash trail this year, and/or the DAM to DSM. I would love to have you all join me and look forward to giving and receiving support!
Give a shout out to me if you register?
