We had a fa-BOO-lous time on Halloween. There were 28 pumpkin entries. A lot of hard work went into decorating them. Congratulations to all the winners and a special thanks to our wonderful judges Amy from Silsbee Chamber & Daryin from The Silsbee Bee. Friday morning staff members decorated tables, dressed in costumes and served food/drinks related to Fall to the residents. Everyone did such a great job! Friday afternoon residents anxiously awaited the arrival of the trick or treaters. With bags in hand they made their way to receive bags of goodies. The costumes were incredible and the atmosphere was too. Lots of fun and memories!

Our residents did a fabulous job of painting their individual pumpkins. Thank you to the sweet ladies from The Lively Oak Pumpkin Patch and their little helpers. Everyone had a great time.

What a beautiful day for a hayride. We're so appreciative of the time and effort put into helping us out. Brian and Connie Cook came through once again for our annual event. They put their heart and soul into making sure that our residents enjoy every aspect of what it's like to have an old fashion hayday. They provide the truck, lowboy and hay and Ms. Connie even helps add the magic of Fall with the cute decorations. Not to mention bringing hay to our facility for our outdoor display each year. These kind folks are always a call or text away and are eager to help. Thank you!
Now, let's talk about another special group of youth who also come and help us with loading and unloading our residents. The West Hardin High School Student Council kids are an absolute breath of fresh air. When I say these kids didn't have to be nudged or even asked for help they jumped right in and gave 110%... ALL 36 of them! They nurtured our residents as if they were their own family. They never once shyed away from offering to help with the next person. They laughed, learned and made new friends and even better memories with each of us. Their 2 sponsors/teachers do a remarkable job of teaching not only life skills, but what it truly means to live life and making a difference into our golden years. These kids are top notch students. After our hayride was winding down some of the students played the piano for our residents while they enjoyed their lunch while others interacted 1:1 in rooms each extending compassion and joy to everyone they encountered. Thank you again for making our day all about giving back .
