Want a new way to train and treat problems of the foot/ankle complex??

At first glance this would look like an incorrect way to do a traditional squat. However, the point of this exercises is not to strengthen the legs. Instead, we are creating greater flexibility to the gastrocnemius "the calf muscle".

This exercise is a called a "Prisoner Squat." SImply displacing your knees past your toes and keeping your heels down creates a stretch to the Achilles complex. By performing a "Prisoner Squat" in sequence, you then get a dynamic stretch, which is a stretch with movement. We must add, this exercise may not be appropriate for everyone, just reach out to your local physical therapist to get more information.

This morning, a group of Buddhist monks walking all the way from Fort Worth to Washington, D.C. on a Walk for Peace passed right in front of Frazier Physical Therapy.
We stepped outside to capture a few moments, and wow—what an honor.

Their resilience, calm strength, and dedication to spreading peace were incredibly moving. A reminder that healing isn’t only physical… it’s spiritual, emotional, and intentional.
Safe travels, and may their message continue touching every heart along the way. 🕊️

If you sit for long periods — at work, in the car, or at home — try setting a timer to stand up and stretch every 30–60 minutes.
Your spine, hips, and shoulders will thank you!
