Our clinicians are compassionate and understanding and use a Person Centered Care approach to work with individuals and their families facing Dementia. We work together to create a supportive environment that fosters engagement and promotes a sense of security for individuals coping with cognitive decline.
We incorporate various therapeutic activities, including music therapy, cognitive exercises, and reminiscence therapy, all carefully curated to stimulate memory and encourage social interaction. Through these initiatives, we strive to nurture a sense of community and belonging, instilling hope and confidence in both our clients and their loved ones.

Dysphagia is a disorder that is associated with a wide variety of conditions including stroke, head and neck cancer, and neurologic disorders such as dementia, ALS, Parkinson's, motor neuron disease and muscular dystrophy, to name a few.

"An SLP can help find the right AAC system for you or your loved one. They also help you and the people you talk with learn how to use AAC to communicate. Not every tool works for every person, so it is important to find the right one for you. SLPs work with other professionals like occupational therapists and physical therapists if you have different physical skills that affect how you access your AAC system. Some AAC tools are covered by insurance, but some are not. Your SLP can help you understand your options." ASHA.org

June is Aphasia Awareness month!
Aphasia is an impairment of language, affecting the production or comprehension of speech and the ability to read or write. Aphasia is most commonly caused from a stroke. But brain injuries resulting in aphasia may also arise from head trauma, from brain tumors, or from infections.
A speech therapist can determine the amount of function available in each of the channels for the comprehension of language, and to assess the possibility that treatment might enhance the use of the channels that are available.
