Warriors at Ease

Warriors at Ease Trauma-Informed, Adaptive Yoga and Mindfulness Practices for the Military Community and Miami, involving the use of yoga and meditation as an adjunct therapy.

The Warriors at Ease (WAE) mission and work began in 2009 as early research studies at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as well as VA Medical Centers in Washington D.C. The success of these studies paved the way for the WAE training curriculum. The success of our training and the expansion of our Global Teacher Network is creating sustainable access to mindfulness and evidence-based services in support of initiatives within the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) dedicated to the unique needs of the military population. WAE and our Teacher Network continue to lead the industry in support of both the military and civic sectors maintaining the quality, efficacy, and access to mission-essential training and educational resources. Access to these bottom-up, evidence-based approaches is critical to ensuring both immediate and long term health, resilience, and post-traumatic growth for individuals and communities currently suffering from a loss of connection.

Honoring the strength behind the uniform 💚

April is Military Child Month, and at Warriors at Ease, we recognize the resilience, adaptability, and quiet courage of military children everywhere.

These young heroes navigate change, separation, and uncertainty—often with remarkable strength and heart. Their resilience inspires the work we do every day.

Through trauma-informed yoga, meditation, and mindfulness, we are committed to supporting the entire military community—including the families who serve alongside.

💙 This month, we honor you.
💚 We see you.
🙏 We thank you.

Practicing together can create a powerful sense of connection.

In spaces designed with the military community in mind, yoga becomes less about poses and more about presence. Moving, breathing, and simply sharing the experience alongside others can be meaningful in its own way. When choice and awareness are part of the practice, students are able to participate in ways that feel right for them.

You can watch the full class through the link in our bio, or directly on Susie’s YouTube channel.

For many in the military community, stepping into a yoga class can feel unfamiliar or even intimidating. Trauma-informed yoga shifts the focus away from getting things “right” and toward awareness, choice, and meeting your body where it is that day.

Warriors at Ease trains teachers to offer practices that are accessible, respectful, and designed specifically with the military community in mind.

On K9 Veterans Day, we honor the military working dogs who have served alongside our service members with loyalty. For many in the military community, the steady presence of a service dog can bring a sense of calm and support on the path toward healing 🐾

Training that expands more than your skillset. It expands your perspective.
